Disconnections

Has anyone noticed, maybe CPT people - but my line has been dropping like mad lately.

It's dropping and then dialing up with errors, I have to turn the device off and then on again and then it connects and then disconnects a while later.

Times that it disconnects varies.

I am in Johannesburg and also having ALOT of disconnections today and sometimes problems when trying to redial. My signal is also up and down alot from 4 bars to 3 bars

What is happening??
 
Ok, so if it's not just Cape Town, then Neotel are having problems, I'm watching my downloads and the speeds are anything from 100KB/s 1 minute to 40KB/s next minute to a complete and utter disconnection and redials are coming back with random errors.

It's also pointless phoning the call centre to find out what is going on because 90% of the time, those guys have no clue about anything, let alone anything ABOUT Neotel itself.

gdiza I've also had line drops since last night. I was actually blaming it on the inclement weather. My speeds are still normal though.
 
I`m in Durban and having the same errors and dropping of the line. Started from about 15-10-09. I do not even bother phoning the call centre. Its a waist of time.
 
Been having the same problem for a while now. Logged a call last week for a techie to come out but of course no reply yet. Also getting my phone swapped since the keypad doesn't work if the usb and power cable is plugged in.

Quite ****e service, one moment i have a Rssi of 55 the next the bloody thing disconnects. Power off, reset, power off, reset and eventually it comes back.

On tower 108 btw.

<conspiracy theory> I also got this sneaky suspicion that their doing something to the connection during the week as for the last two weeks during the weekdays the connection was ****e, but when friday hit i have a 2.4mb/s connection again suddenly. </conspiracy theory>
 
argg!! Disconnections coming in hard and frequent now, been having the odd disconnection issue with errors over the past few days, today has got to be the worst, Internet practically unusable (hence 11 odd minutes to get this posted)

Sad to see comments about people not even bothering with the Call Centre, honestly I feel the same way and now know to keep frustration levels low it's best not to call the Call Centre and rely on my own patience.
 
Have had 4 disconnections in the last 2 hours (NeoFlex), have had to reboot the device each time to get reconnected. I've eventually given up and switched to ADSL.
 
Still not fixed in pretoria, one of the neotel errors that should dissapear at the beginning of the next ice age
 
I've been getting them as well, mostly today, but i think it started on saturday!
 
I get constant disconnections, then on numerous reconnects it says invalid username / password. I have to reconnect a couple of times using the exact same login and pw.
 
My connection keeps dropping from tower 108 and goes to 238 i think(at work, can't remember the number precisely).

Just wish i knew what the problem with my tower is. When it works its beautiful....but yeah, to get it there.... ffs.

Also going now on week and half that ive tried to get a techie over to check the signal and replace the phone.

What message are you getting when this happens bud? Do you have date as to when this started? Ummm If the rest of the guys on the forum would include that, that will also be helpful please.....

Just to get it on the out and open. I use a program called axesstel pst evdo 1.53 taht monitors the connection on the neotel prime device.

Whenever the connection dies there is a definite drop and reaquiring of signal (though it seems the modem loses signal and tries to reacquire but fails hence the spike and fall in the signal graph) eventually the connection will stabilise but on a different tower (my yagi is pointed to tower 108). 108 will be down for a few days then magically on the weekends it works again until monday. Quite unacceptable since this is the tower im pointed to and i subscribed to neotel since that tower was close.

When I connect to tower 108 my RSSI is 55/60 max ec/io of 1 and drc of 2.4MB/s
After disconnect and reacquire with a different tower(238) i sit with a RSSI of 88 and connection speed of 600KB/s.
 
I've switched to ADSL, so haven't been able to monitor my NeoFlex. I'll try switching to it when not busy and see whether the disconnects are still persisting.
