Neotel increases revenue, coverage, user base

lol, like I said last time. If you have 3 clients, and you get 3 more. That's a 100% growth.... not really impressive...

Is this correct?

Neotel CEO Ajay Pandey said that the company has already invested R 3.5-million in its network, and will continue to aggressively increase its CDMA, WiMAX and Fibre footprint.

Surely it should be R3,5-billion?

Well, they certainly do really care to get more customers. A colleage of mine applied for Neotel over a month ago and was told that they will contact him within 7 days, but they have till this day not contacted him.

Until they have cross network minutes I won't touch them

Neotel is focusing strongly on its WiMAX service aimed at small and medium sized businesses, and has recently launched a symmetrical 2 Mbps WiMAX offering. The company currently has 75 WiMAX towers with plans to further expand their coverage.

Is anyone using Neotel's WIMAX service? What does it cost?

WireFree

They clearly hanging low while building their network. Its just one of those things, until it is all built they will remain a marginal player in the consumer market.

In five years i expect things to be very very different.

Just more of the nevertel wait, first was waiting for launch, and then waiting for coverage and now waiting for both coverage and price drop (seacom must have made a huge impact on neotel's input costs).

Its a never ending waiting game, and neotel is really not doing anything with their client base, I have submitted sooooo many addresses in my area of friends and families and they always say they will contact me when coverage arrives, I checked today, I have coverage now with external antenna, now will it be logical for there to be a curtesy call to mention this to me?????????

Neotel are a bunch of useless money hungry evil sickos, all they are interested in are their corporate clients, I really think their licenses should be taken away and given to someone else who is more capable at making a serious dent into the market in a much shorter time.

Being the SNO means you need to be a (N)ational (O)perator, not a corporate operator or a patchy coverage operator.

Did you even read the article? Neotel currently has over 30 000 subscribers.

I dont understand why they didnt go for wimax to begin with. Now theyre heavily invested in an outdated technology and now they want to implement wimax as well? Whats the point, why not just go with wimax to begin with?

Probably hand-me-downs from India to start with then new from there on...:D

The only question that remains is 5 years from 2025 or 2026?

Neotel is still too slow in Queenswood and too expensive for calls...:(

We have been trying to get details on this 2 meg wimax link from neotel all their Enterprise help desk and Consumer help desk keep saying is that they dont have a WiMax product.

When i mention Ajay Pandey and the article he was quoted in they just go dumb.

Has anyone had luck in finding out a few more details. specificaly what this product is called.
Our DSL link at work is very unreliable. Started on 4 megs now down to 2 megs which we can live with but every morning between 7:30 and 10am it resyncs up to 8 times. Telkom has no idea why.
