Windows 7 South African pricing revealed

Pc International actually has a shop in Johannesburg where you can go into and place orders aswell. They are very good, I have purchased from them for 6 years.

I feel so sorry for all those non-tech savvy-run-of-the-mill people who fall for Incredible Corruption's ridiculous pricing! They get so ripped off!

Suckers!!!

I can vouch for PC International as well.

Their DSP prices on Microsoft Products are the cheapest you will find anywhere. Even MS Office 2007 DSP.

The MS Action Pack supplies you with 10 * Business Licenses and 1 * Ultimate. I received mine just over a month ago.

The only thing you can get at a good price at Incredible Ripoff is printers, but only when they on special, sometimes laptops on special as well.
I hate going into any of their shops, as you walk in, the sales vultures descend on you in droves.

Vista Ultimate Retail is like R4400 in-store.

However, I remember when XP came out. They had a special for XP - it cost R699 for the Upgrade version - XP Home. That was the standard pricing.

BTW IC also charge more for Snow Leopard. Normal price = R329.00 IC price = R349.99

Be very careful folks, James E. Smith has gotten his info very wrong regarding the upgrades.
The upgrades only apply to Windows 7 to Windows 7, ie:Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade for R556 is an upgrade from Windows 7 Home Basic!!
See here: http://www.zaps.co.za/index.php?sm=1626&pid=32201

There are no products that enable you to upgrade from XP or Vista to Windows 7. As one online retailer explained, the upgrade products are more expensive than the full retail products, so they are not bringing them in to SA.

Do not think you can buy the R550 upgrade mentioned in this article and can use that to upgrade from Vista or XP.

You have been warned!

@RPM, please get the author to correct his article ASAP, he is going to cause a lot of confusion...

Roll on suckers .......

In my opinion, the pirate copies will be rife in a short while. Those prices are out of reach for the average user.
I cut my losses a long time ago and stepped up to linux - and when the next version comes out, I believe that we will get better than seven.
