Best priced ADSL services revealed

Digichilli has been excluded because they only comparing companies with proper service delivery.

They should have thought about contention ratios aswell, Afrihost offer a cheap 384k service per gb, but in actual use its more like 64kadsl with 384k bursts

Where did you come up with this? I get full 384K line speed all the time.

Local only bandwith - IS is not even mentioned and they are the cheapest at about R4.33 a GIG.

100% content here with 100% of service too.

Cheapest uncapped ADSL at R399 is Screamer?:confused: What about DigiChilli??:(

Just a note on that:

Read the actual full document from the website, not the summary table in the article, DC is listed in the full document. On there you'll see they compare the cheapest

384 Uncapped
512 Uncapped

Now, DigiChilli's cheapest uncapped offering is 256* (not 384) and their 512 offering is actually more expensive than Screamer (Screamer being the cheapest there with R799 vs. DC's offering of R1000).

*Note it is now "Up to 256" not "Minimum of 256"...they changed that wording :).

That said, i do not see SAOL on that list with their R500 uncapped 384 "all inclusive" offering...or was that offering a limited special?

Just another thing i'm missing on the comparison is TOP-UP pricing. While Telkom might be cheap on their "packaged" 3GB offering, if you want another 1GB out of them you are gonna cough up R65 , which is more than the package per GB.

Why this is important? I am willing to pay a monthly fee that includes some sort overhead that subsidize a cheaper top up. I.e. paying R150 a month for 3GB, but then i can top up @ R10 p/GB . That way i am more flexible , can get FULL LINE SPEED and if i can't afford it i stick to the 3GB package and just don't top up vs. paying R500+ a month for an uncapped solution which are line-limited and i might not use fully.

It was a limited special. But seems to me the broadband scene changes faster than the broadband updates. Yet SAOL exists for ages and they do not even feature in that bible unless the author have a gripe with SAOL. Just like the yellow pages. If its not there it does not mean it don't exist!

Hahahah I think you are confusing afrihost with digichilli or possibly even screamer when they had major issues.

Afrihost doesn't have it's own network, they use IS. I have also gotten full 4mb speeds on my afrihost cap.
