Vodacom's new data tariffs brings savings of up to 61%

Their 2 GB bundle received an even bigger cut. The price for this bundle is reduced from R 998-00 per month to R 389-00 per month. This translates into a 61% price reduction, something that will definitely bode well with consumers.

I just signed up 6 X 500mb contracts for work yesterday. looks like it was a good move. well.... i guess i could/should wait another month

I thought let me look at I-burst....then i thought again :D

With E220 (or any other) modem:

500MB - R249
1GB - R349
2GB - R449
3Gb - R749

Without modem (ad-hoc bundles):

500MB - R189
1GB - R289
2GB - R389
3Gb - R689

No port shaping!! Data is data....

vodacom3g: Please explain why the principle applied to bandwidth increases between 500mb and 2gb (i.e. the more you buy the cheaper it becomes), does not apply for 3gb onwards. as example: 1GB+2GB (R289+R389=R678) is cheaper than 3GB (R689).

FYI Based on the similar ratio of reduction applied between 500mb --> 2Gb, the 3Gb package should cost R489 and not R689.

Because then it would be R5.00 cheaper than Telkoms cheapest 3gb option?

Actually it should be R489 for 4GB - R100 increase each time it's doubled. But R389 for 2GB (no buy 1GB get 1GB free, 3 month promotional-only period) is excellent!

Wow

Well done Vodacom!
"..61% price reduction, something that will definitely bode well with consumers" - you bet it is! :D :D :D
