I am also hoping that Vodacom sells the Smart Tab N8 locally as it appears to offer a number of improvements over the PT10 such as LTE capability, faster processor, more RAM and internal storage, front facing speaker etc. Vodacom have several educational initiatives which are associated with these cheap tablets (e-School portal, R10000 Top Dog voucher etc.) so the N8 would presumably be under consideration.
I have been quite impressed with both the Vodacom PT10 as well as the Smart Tab 2. I mainly use them for streaming YouTube, live TV channels, movies and TV shows etc. The 7" ST2 has a screen resolution of 1024X600 while the 10.1" PT10 is 1280X800. The picture quality is comparable with that of most 1366X768 laptops which is what I had been using previously to stream the same content. The picture quality of some websites such as www.dailymail.co.uk which are crammed with multiple tiny images can look grainy at close range (which is also noticeable on a laptop) but the streaming video on both devices is quite decent. I can also stream YouTube music videos in a small window while browsing the internet or running other apps using the Floating Tube multitasking app. I think you can currently purchase the ST2 for ~R750 from PnP using the R150 shopping voucher discount.
