100% of Telkom exchanges ADSL enabled

RPM, does Telkom have qualification on the issues reported by various members in different areas, where there have been really high ADSL pings and poor download speeds?
 
All pointless when some exchanges are still limited. My exchange is not enabled for speeds greater than 512k.
 
This is a very deceptive statement!!!

While the exchanges may well be ADSL enabled, many subscribers cannot get ADSL due to the access technology used in their area.

For example: the Somerset East exchange is ADSL enabled, but a farmer being serviced off this exchange cannot get ADSL as he is being fed via SOR18 technology!!!
 
This doesn't explain why we can't get ADSL in my business's office park :-/ I don't agree with that 100%.
 
Great, now all Telkom has to do is get exchanges to the 95% of the population they are not servicing.
 
This is ridiculous. All the exchanges are ADSL capable but not even half of the customer base can get it.
I hate to state the obvious but the only reason a company would release pointless information statements like this, is because there is trouble ahead and it is trying to convince the public that everything is fine and there are no needs for panic from shareholders.

See my earlier post... The exhange to which those farmers are linked is ADSL enabled BUT the access technology (e.g. the last mile) is not ADSL capable!!!
 
Thats funny...my brother, in Edinvale, is unable to get adsl at home because the area has no ADSL coverage...just saying

Tx moggie, Telkom should work on the last mile for our farmers, ppl in the big city's get super fast ADSL and we sit with GPRS, EDGE and Dial-up cause we were forgotten somewhere along the line. What do they think just because were farm we don't need internet? Try download a HD weather chart forecast for the next three months on GPRS, EDGE or if the weather does not permit it Dail-up. :(

My brother-in-law used to farm up in the Griekwastad area... still had "slingerfoon" last I heard!!
