100% of Telkom exchanges ADSL enabled

This doesn't explain why we can't get ADSL in my business's office park :-/ I don't agree with that 100%.

+1 My order is now 2 months old. There aparantly are no ifrastructure, but the telkom lines pass right in front of our plot.

Tx moggie, Telkom should work on the last mile for our farmers, ppl in the big city's get super fast ADSL and we sit with GPRS, EDGE and Dial-up cause we were forgotten somewhere along the line. What do they think just because were farm we don't need internet? Try download a HD weather chart forecast for the next three months on GPRS, EDGE or if the weather does not permit it Dail-up.

I remember when I was in school in Victoria West in the Karoo...we only got a automatic exchange round about 1997 or something. You would be talking and this woman would keep on interrupting saying "5 minute verby"......"10 minute verby". I would be like...you silly cow...p*ss off and stop listening to my bloody converstation man!!! LOL hehehe Those were the days hey lol

Just checked Pofadder and their exchange is not ADSL active. Can confirm that two weeks back ADSL was still not available in Pofadder (got in-laws living there).

See my earlier post... The exhange to which those farmers are linked is ADSL enabled BUT the access technology (e.g. the last mile) is not ADSL capable!!!

In Pofadder the last mile is across the road from my brother in law . I can phone Pofadder Telkom to find out if he is at home or outside by chickens

I just spoke to a Doctor in a 'semi rural' area - they where told there is no ADSL capability in their area because there is not enough demand..
So I lol'd and told them thats Telkom for you... not seeing the future - its almost as if in that kind of setup they have an apartheid regime mindset 'no eish, they will neva use the dsl'

I got linked to this article by a friend I play in the Team Fortress 2 league with and could not believe how this company can keep lying so openly to people.

I moved to Sunningdale in Umhlanga at the begining of this year and applied for a line so I can get DSL. The line came 3 weeks late and finally got installed in February. I then took the next step and applied for DSL. This is when the waiting started.

For the first 2 months they claimed that they were doing repairs to the exchange and the line will be activated as soon as that was done. I blindly believed them as i saw Telkom vans parked at the exchange almost eveyday. Little did I know they were napping

The next thing was that there were no ports available at the exchange. So they broke it and took all the ports? This has been the excuse from then on. No different and almost like the people at the call centre have it recorded. I applied for DSL on the 12th of Feb. 100% my ass.

Absolutely crap - I have a letter from a Telkom Services Manager that states that currently our area does not support ADSL. I used the service for 4 years before cables were stolen and they refuse to replace them :wtf:
