10GB Local Only - R79

I play on SGS servers quite happily with latency slightly higher than my SAIX account. By slightly, I mean about +3ms average.
 
Ye ill rather jst get another 30gig local but this is a nice idea for the end of the month if i need to get anything :P

Im new to the forum and im sorry to be asking a question right away!

Im a bit confused... I like the offer i see at OpenWeb, but im not sure whats going on!

So, I will tell you guys my understanding so far...

I have Telkom as my ISP at the moment, but i see everywhere where you guys are talking about how you download 20 - 30Gb per month form news servers... I just read a few stuff on the news servers and I want to use them!

So, I was thinking to get a 1GB Unshapped IS account with the 30GB Local Only at OpenWeb.... Is that right???

Will i be able to download from the news servers then, and what will i be able to download there??

30GB is alot, so is it going to be movies and stuff?? And its local right??
 
do you get access to is news servers with the openwb or imagine accounts
 
I wonder what you guys are going to do when BSA tell IS to shut down their news servers or to at least drop all binary attachments... :p

There are hundreds of international paid news servers which are WAY better than IS's so wouldnt be phased...

Uh ... yeah but you'd be paying about R45/GiB for international bandwidth instead of R8/GiB.

if u use an international news server your using international bandwidth?

which is around 65-80 per gig plus your monthly subcription?

explain how this iis not the case?
 
Get a cheap IS account with 2gb INT, 420kb/s for 24hours or maybe 420kb/s for 48hours if you lucky would cost you R160. 1.5gb/h 24h = 36gb, 1.5gb/h 48h = 72gb. These values are max possible IMO but its cheaper than saix. Sure you would only get 1 or 2 days usage on the account but if you manage ur dls ull manage.
 
Yeah but I think ISPs would stop that pretty soon.
Some of them carry the usage over to the next month so you'll be sitting at minus 30GiB for the next month. :)
 
o yea i want to see the stats of ppl who have done this

im sure they cancel your account because your actually costing them money

so as much as they want you as a client they dont want leechers who abuse the good prices

how do you avoid the 24 hour cut off?

dude, we all know how bad things are here but banging Paris Mashile (boss of icasa) is just too much of a price to pay for quality braodband
