Man,im just not getting it. I have read this thread thru and thru and im no closer to using my local gigs. A whole 27 of them. This is my 3 rd month that I will lose 27 local gigs. Come on "oaks" where can I find the local goodies? How do I use local to get to int stuff. What news servers? What local proxies? You guys talk in circles and Im no closer to getting an aswer. PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZE HELP. GIGS are precious. I don't want to waste it.

Ok let me explain it nicely.
IS have new servers which host the Usenet.
That means that they have binary newsgroups and not just the plain text ones.
Think of the news servers as being similar to an e-mail server.
People post apps, games, movies, etc. to a newsgroup and you can download them as attachments just like you would with e-mails.
The only difference is the protocol and the fact that everything is public for everyone to see.
The releases (apps, games, movies, etc.) are normally broken into lots of small rar files otherwise the news servers would choke on the huge files and it would be a problem if it got corrupted during the transfer.
Unless you know where to look you'll never find the stuff (thousands of groups) and even if you do it will be hard to collect and download the dozens or hundreds of binary attachments which is where NZBs come in.
NZBs are index files which contain the details needed to download an app, game, movie, etc.
You can download the NZBs from sites like http://nzbmatrix.com/ and http://www.nzbsrus.com/
Then you use a downloader app that can handle NZB files like Grabit to download the files and assemble all the attachments into the final result file(s).
There are par and par2 files which are parity files which can be used to fix corrupted downloads but if you use an app like Grabit you won't need to worry about them.
Now if that doesn't make sense to you then you better cancel your Openweb subscriptions and get Telkom to remove your line.

With a separate account or with lots of patience.
I can still browse international with a local only Openweb account - just have to wait about 10 minutes for a page to load.

Damn it. Ordered and receiced my 10gig local account as i hit 30 gigs cos i thought i would be hardcapped any minute, and now i am still not hardcapped at 38 gigs, which means the 10gig account was a total waste...,Blech
