The 64k sim is fine for your phone. I have one that I use in my phone that works perfectly for Internet etc...

Only if you are going to use a Data Card in a Notebook you will have problems.

128 K sim

Hi guys, I was informed that these new sims are a temp solution. they are meant only for datacards are are not supposed to work in phones. My sims works fine in a card and in a phone. Any one else have that experience?

They have told me to hang onto both sims that I have for the moment. One for phone use and one for data use. New cards that can handle both are appaerntly a couple of weeks out.

Yes, that is true. It is only a temporary solution. I haven't tried mine in my phone yet. Will do that later tonight.

PS. Wynsam. Do you still get Blue Screens in Windows?

Nothing yet. Would they leave a message when calling? I dont use my VM sim in my phone so they will reach my voicemail, not sure if they would leave a message. Also when I get a new sim will I be able to transfer my current airtime to my new sim?

They've not yet contacted me...

Funny, I've send all the numbers I received. Your's was in the second batch.

Will see what I can do.

Only thing I can think of is that they're not getting the sim to work in the Novatel card yet. Darlington at Datasupport phoned me Friday and told me that there is still problems with the Vodacom data cards.

Airtime transfer will be available shortly. If you go to your Virgin Mobile Sim Application on your cellphone you will get "Airtime Transfer". There you can specify the amount you want to transfer and to wich number you want to transfer it.

I'm not sure when this will be available, but I'll find out.

No hurry :) I really appreciate your help :)
I don't need it "pronto" , it's just kind of annoying having this nice data card which I can't use... especially as they have EDGE in my area :D

Cool, don't want to keep you waiting too long. I'll see what I can do.

I phoned them yesterday and enquired about why I cannot connect with the datacard (I did not tell them about the arrangement with Piesang). They phoned me back today - Adam - and said they were aware of the problem and it is a network issue which they are working on and they will sort it out in due course. He could not give me a time but said they would let the guys who logged a call know as soon as it is sorted as well as put a notice on the website.

I made a point of asking if the problem is with the card and he assured me it was not. I did not want raise the 128k sim issue as Piesang is dealing with this.
So, it seems as if the existing cards should 'come right' presently. I hope soon. 50c per meg, I wonder what the other networks are going to do about that...!

I will also follow this up. The thing is if it is a network issue then why would the new sim work in the data card and the old one not?

Thanks for letting me know this. I don't want people to think I'm giving the wrong info.

I've just tested it. When I put the new sim in my i-Mate Jasjar it doesn't even get signal but it works 100% in the Data card.
