192k to 384k? ~~~August 1st changes~~~

Guys mine is upgraded alresady. I phoned in yesterday and processed an order for it. A lady called 2 hours later but i wasnt home, and my wife didnt ask why she called. She phoned again this morning saying that she tried calling yesterday morning to upgrade, she did it immediately, and bobs your uncle im upgraded to 384

I just couldnt wait to check my line every half an hour, i had to have some kind of surity, i suggest you guys phone and place an order for an upgrade anyways.

Right, about 5 minutes ago my line was reset (for the 15th time today) and now my data rate is at 384/128 (as opposed to the 640/352 it was at before the reset)

However...

I am really hoping that this will not be my top speed if i have been upgraded :/

I think I'm gonna phone in tomoz and ask for my complimentry upgrade. Grim what number did u use? I am gonna be so pissed if they sync me at a low speed and tell me I can't go faster. I know that I can sync at 1024 without errors as that's what I synced at, when I just got dsl.

Hmm, I smell a rat, too many people are syncing @ 384/128. Isn't 384 suppose to sync at 512?

Wonder if telkom isn't doing the reverse of what they said they are going to do, put every one on 384/128 sync, then as we start to complain "boost" us in 64k increments?

So you start of as “normal” 192k then maybe get 384!
I wonder.

Screw this I'm phoning in for a manual upgrade tomorrow. I want my line to sync at 512/256, not some second rate speed. Now the upload speed is even worse than before.

By the way, im on 384 now :

It syncs at 384, and the line speed is the norm 384 speeds, why would i want mine to sync at 512?

Grimreaper does your line sync at 384/128? If it does then I'll give them until the end of the week before calling, maybe they changed the line speed but haven't yet changed the script that limits 192k users to 20kB/s.

That's motoring eh! I don't think, that has got to be my slowest speed ever, even my old modem was faster than that (some of the time)

after 30 minutes , of ..your call is important to us ,,, we are experiencing high call volumes ... what i got was "Sorry the upgrade is an automated process, Wait your turn , it could be today .. or tomorrow or maybe ,,,, most likely 23H55 31 August 2006 ..." you will just need to wait and see ... an nope we're sorry u cannot ask us to do it manually.
