1mbps Uncapped download question

I have also read that some recommend Openweb Gold, any comment on that?

Openweb GOLD is about the same price as Telkom. I really don't understand why you want to change if you get full speed on Telkom :/

Hi Guys, I have recently changed from Telkom 1mbps uncapped to WebAfrica and I am finding with their FUP I am not getting nearly as much downloaded as with Telkom. I don't know if it will change, but with Telkom I could download 24/7 at 100kbps and I managed to pull 150 - 200GB's down in a month.

Can I expect the same throttling from Mweb and others and how many GB's have you managed to pull from your current ISP on a 1mbps uncapped?

Thanks!

Hi minerva,

I can offer you a 7 day free trial account in order for you to test our network. If you would like that, please PM me your contact details in order for me to arrange it to be setup.

Kind regards,
MWEB Guy

I must be honest, I cancelled Telkom due to absolutely shocking service from the billing department. I took up the free trial, but was billed for R2000, and earned myself a few grey hairs trying to sort it out.

u moved from telkom for the wrong reason man.
problem is with the way you've got ur torrents setup.

if you cant browse http while downloading torrents, then limiting your download speed threshhold may help.. BUT..
i read this once when i googled " optimise torrents".. and i followed an instruction to set the maximum allowed connections to another number. Any number between 50 and 100 is ok (more is NOT always better).
Next you need to configure your torrent client to allow 50-100 max half-open TCP

reduce the number of connections and peers and you should be good!

I am going to give that a try!
