Just wanted to find out if this is possible or if anyone does it. I currently have Webafrica as my ISP - mainly gaming, but they don't have affordable uncapped at the moment. Could I have a cheap uncapped account with say Mweb and swop settings on my router when I have a lot of downloading to do? Even if Webafrica manages my line?

Yes. You can even have different PCs use different ISPs. So you can have your torrent pc downloading on the uncapped and your gaming PC using webafrica.

I'd say just move to Openweb GOLD though as that's one uncapped account you can do everything with.

yes get a router with half bridge mode or just bridge mode.

half bridge, you have a isp account n your router (uncapped), which every pc will use when it is connected, and you can dail up your webafrica account from your pc to use WA bandwidth, while rest of pcs still use the uncapped.

normal bridge, there is no account on the router, so every pc have to dail account to be connected.

+1 to above comments but just want to add that your speed will not increase or anything like that.

If PC downloading is using all your speed, any other pcs will be slower :p :) (scheduler comes to mind here)

Sorry for 'derailing' here a little, BUT .....
Has someone managed to get this working on Win7 yet ... I remember having problems/error when win7 came out and i tried half-bridge .... something about the "raspppoe" file wrong or something ???? - but it's been
a while and I can't remember all the exact details as i have not messed with that idea for a looooong time :p

you must remember your line speed will be split between the accounts. If you have a 4meg line you won't get 4meg on each account. Unless you only run 1 account at a time.

Hi

Yes, I have the Billion 7300w running in half brige mode, with main account on the router, and pppoe from an windows 7 pc to my other account. Works perfectly.

My line is with telkom, so not sure what will happen with an line which is tied to an provider.
