Things that suck for me in this game was not SA losing but the fact that they played really crap with the bat. Heads must roll for that, the pitch was good maybe movement but they mucked it up. Uhm its one thing to lose in a close game but todays just sucked and i think is way worse than any previous losses taking us out of WC.

Interestingly both semi;s now have had two sides showing pretty much their worst performances which bodes well for a tight final I hope. hey might be the first exciting one since what 12yrs involving the same two teams nogal?

I would really liked to have seen Bosman have a chance. He had it really rough. At least he would have done better against Aus.

I think there are many things wrong with our cricket right now, not one or two
1) Inability to play spin
2) No real spinners
3) Inability to play on a flat pitch - methinks Jonty should teach the guys to take singles for 50 overs
4) Graeme Smith is not a Captain IMO - great batsman tho.
5) I believe there are better youngsters out there than some of the guys playing atm - but I could be wrong about that. So many have left.

Ponting doesn't have to deal with a team plagued with quota issues. I think Biff has it a little tougher, I think he improved alot since he was appointed.

Is there a way that we all maybe sign a petition against this quota thing? If its still there when Asia 2011 comes round we're screwed.

The quota system didn't make us loose. We had great players in there... Fact is that they fcuked up. BIG TIME. I can watch a loosing team week after week but when you start embarrassing yourself and you're nation then you should not be allowed to play on that level again.

Sack the whole bunch of them and start from scratch. They where a damn disgrace.... 27/5 ? It wasn't that Australia was better they we're spot on with their bowling and then we go and play primary school shots.

Oh dear, the chokes on us.

There was a graphic during the game that showed the avg speed of our bowlers. Pollock, Langes, Kallis, Nel and Hall all had an avg delivery between 131 and 135kmh.

We need someone faster (maybe Steyn) and we need someone slower (who knows). Developing spin has to be come a priority. We have some of the best seamers in the world, but thats all we got.

I agree with Pitbull. Seriously, Kallis, AB, Graham all SUCKED. Thats why we lost. They chocked _once again_ on the big game.

Hey look on the bright side - we got the Twenty20 WC coming up in SA later this year, we're gonna own everyone in that! None of this slow pitch crap

Yeah poor form from the Windies crowds. I think that '92, '99 and '03 were the best WC's in terms of atmosphere and attendance.

One thing we have that nobody else has is the Wanderers - no other ground has such deafening acoustics!

96 was packed to!!

I don't think Steyn would make much difference - we need somebody who can bowl 150+km/h. And we need a spinner who can significantly turn it both ways.

If you look at the other 3 teams who made the semis, they all have that - moreso for the finalists. The scary part is that they readily have replacements and we can't even find one.

That graphic said it all, every single bowler used was between 130 and 135, none of them provide variety in any way. Things have gotta change, no way we can stay 2nd in the world if our team stays the same.

About the quota thing, I didn't say it hurt us this match or this World Cup, it's just generally retarded to book spots for players of "colour" (whatever the **** that means) when it could just happen that out best 11 are white when selection time comes round again.

Oh and well done Boodles, you guys do deserve to win the tournament but somehow I can't bring myself to shout "Go Aussies, Go" on Saturday. Sorry

THATS EXACTLY THE POINT, I'm NOT saying the quota is to blame for our loss, it was our pathetic batting by Smith, Kallis, Bouch etc. I'm just saying that for to really field our strongest side for a particular match in the future, wouldn't it be better for us to have spots open for our best 11, not 5 whites, 3 coloured, 3 blacks or whatever...
