It had everything to do with the current number 1 batsmen in the world leaving SA to play for England.
Telemachus got hurt, I dont think he could have contributed alot anyway, hes a standard player.
Kemp is only there coz Smithers dont like Klusener!!!

Yeah Pietersen left for that reason. He was not considered here as a batsman...lol
I really don't know what to say about our top order yesterday. Does DStv show the press conferences they have after the match? If so, I'd love to hear what Smith had to say? What was our gameplan?

If he batted like he now does while in SA, he would be in the team. He didn't. He left for the UK where for whatever reason he flourished. Good luck to him.

The thing is I taught it was inevitable, Smithers should be sacked and so should the stupid selectors!!!!
No quota system and we might have had pieterson...not that we want the git but players like him could have made more impact than prince

I have to agree with this. As great as he clearly is now, when he left I don't think he would have made the SA side.

On paper, we still had a team capable of pushing OZ all the way. Such a pity we didn't bat sensibly.
KP's talent should have been spotted here by our talent scouts there's no denying they failed there. Guys like Clive Rice saw he had talent but that he wasn't going to be used in SA so he told KP to go to england.
