technically, its coz of the coaching. Players aren't taught how to adapt to different situations... They have to learn from there own mistakes. Aussies saw how SA bowlers failed, and did extremely well in there all round bowling performance...

Valid point. However there is one reason that I think speaks volumes as to why we don't have a lot of spinners, let alone world class ones, kids taking up the game at high school don't want to be spinners! They all want to be the next Ntini/Pollock/Donald. So what we have is that there is no one that's wants to be spinner in the first place.
Even the ones we have were fast/medium bowlers and they dropped in pace and they resorted to spin. There is something that has to be said playing to your strengths and that is what SA is doing by picking an all out pace attack. That is what the West Indies were doing when they were dominating world cricket.
Let us find some quality spinners first, rather than put Peterson in and have him blasted to all parts of the ground.

In Tests, he took 61 wickets for Oz in 12 matches in South Africa.
South Africa do not have as many super fast wickets as Australia do - and we don't even produce as many lightning quick bowlers either. Sox63 hit the nail on the head: at school level there aren't enough spinners starting out - but that's also a school coaching problem. Does SA have any spinning coaches at school or even at club level?
