2010 LOC falling apart

If a Black person says that, it should also be racism , but it doesn't fit with the definition,so it cannot be racism.

Is it possible that it might only be a derogatory Arabic word meaning heathen?

Agreed, it is derogatory, but not racist.

Zulu/Xhosa is not a race but a tribe. What you have just described is tribilism...

So we are a white tribe then not. Is there a distinct deference or definition between a tribe and a race.

From the true living Internet Bible.

Legal definition
According to UN International Conventions, "the term "racial discrimination" shall mean any distinction, exclusion, restriction or preference based on race, color, descent, or national or ethnic origin which has the purpose or effect of nullifying or impairing the recognition, enjoyment or exercise, on an equal footing, of human rights and fundamental freedoms in the political, economic, social, cultural or any other field of public life." [1] This definition does not make any difference between prosecutions based on ethnicity and race, in part because the distinction between the ethnicity and race remains debatable among anthropologists[2] According to British law, racial group means "any group of people who are defined by reference to their race, colour, nationality (including citizenship) or ethnic or national origin

Why? Many call it the Internet bible. Whats your issue with it? Atheists do not believe in bibles do they?

If it offended you I am sorry but yet do not see/understand why?

Without getting into too much needless detail which could result in the thread being derailed further, you could just call it Wikipedia without all the unnecessary dramatisation.

Why not? That is what makes it interesting. The problem is what you see in it not what I do.
Cheers

The problem is that in the past you have equated Wikipedia to being the Internet Bible for people who are atheists and/or people who disagree with your opinions.

That said, it is difficult to understand your exact meanings when we converse in text which shows little emotion, if any.

Rather call a spade a spade and nothing else - I guarantee you that future discussions will be a lot smoother.

Exactly, so keep that in mind when you read.

Unfortunately because of your past (and I know you have changed or at least you're trying to), your intentions are debatable, therefore it is a lot harder to understand your exact meanings.

My intentions are only good.

That was/is unnecessary or rather to be exact That is not necessary.
Prejudice, as you blame onto others, is a difficult thing when you apply it yourself not?

Repetition is not necessary.

Unfortunately because of your illicit past, I have sufficient reason to be weary of your posts.

As I said some where else, unfortunately you've dug this hole for yourself. I'm waiting for you to start regularly filling said hole with fertile soil. I do not doubt your ability in doing this, as you have already started.

I agree, calling it a "bible" has many potential implied irrelevant connotations which are likely to only unnecessarily derail the discussion. And I don't think "many" people call it that, I've been hanging around the 'Net a long time I've never, ever heard it called that.

Anyway, the "white tribe" idea is an interesting question, but unless one interprets the term "tribe" very loosely I don't think one could say there is an overarching "white tribe" any more than one can say there is an overarching "black tribe" (there are thousands) - there are literally thousands of different white ethnic, language and bloodline-based identifications, some of those might be regarded as "tribes", as subsets of the caucasian race classification, but I don't think one can claim a "white tribe" - I mean, do you feel you can even somewhat strongly identify with any of, say, a rural lithuanian, a Breton from Brittany, a Liverpudlian, a French Canadian, or a Manx speaker/person from the Isle of Man? Just because they're also white? I don't think so. And that's just a tiny smattering of examples. My dictionary in fact even defines a "tribe" as having, amongst others, the same language. Sure, our traditional customs are more likely to be closer to other 'white tribes' than to 'black tribes', but the differences are significant enough that we would feel basically completely alien amongst any of those peoples. In principle I like the idea of a 'white tribe' for its suggestions of unity - i.e. focusing on similarities, not differences, tends to be healthier - but it's not terribly practical. Anyway, at that point you're just one level down from "human tribe" :)

If a Xhosa badmouth a Zulu for his abilities and or beliefs, (Please I did/do not say this is what happened) is it not racism. Black on Black, one race to another?

Theoretically, most certainly, yes, at least I think so.

Agreed, it is derogatory, but not racist.

I disagree. The word in South Africa is used with derogatory connotations AGAINST another race. If it was derogatory towards all races then it might be merely derogatory. The word in itself is racist as used and understood by South Africans and it shouldnt be tolerated. The fact that he tried to use context as an excuse amazes me as the context is what makes it racist.

Am i correct that you then state that Khoza is a racist?

I dont know enough about him to accuse him being a racist. Based merely on that comment he made, yes! He is a fool nonetheless as any South African would know that using that word, especially directed at a black person, and especially in public would land you in deep shyte.

whether the word was used in or out of context, any professional and smart individual would certainly not use it in a public domain. then theres the issue of class..as a senior member of the LOC you should not have to explain yourself continously and defend constant allegations.
