2010 LOC falling apart

Yet another silly article that says nothing at all. Pathetic.
Everything is on track, CT is ahead of schedule. Take it away from SA? Please.

I'd put money on that never happening.

I'd never underestimate the incompetence of Bloater and his cronies( after all he gave S.A the WC in the first place:o) but I'd be willing to put some money on whether it is 'successful' or not ;)

Problem is defining 'succesfull'? No good saying it was successful when the rest of the country was in the dark and dozens of foreigners were brutaly attacked.

same old same old. take it to germany bla bla bla..
modise doesn't exactly add much to the LOC.

first it was infrastructure won't be completed..now that stadia are on track..its the LOC which will fail..after that..another crisis will make headlines..after that..some more..and after that some more...and after that some more..and after that some more.

true. if 2010 causes the rest of the country to be in the dark..then thats not good at all. there has to be some limit to what we blame on 2010 and what we don't. foreigners are raped, attacked, robbed, regardless of 2010. e.g. cape town has 1.7 million international tourists regardless of 2010 and manages to provide a reasonably safe environment..with levels of security(particularly event security) up by 300% during the world cup, tourists would actually be safer than they currently are when visiting RSA.

the problem is that this level of security will only apply to host cities, and will not continue to protect citizens of this country post 2010. if selebi is replaced there might be some hope..but i doubt he'll ever see the inside of a jail.

Only if the criminals dont boost their activity by more than 300%.

What about during and pre 2010?

I been thinking fr a while now that this is going to be the first world cup where people die. I mean we as residents of this country know what to do and what to look for. now you gonna get some greek dude who can barely speak english getting into a taxi with his 2000 euro camera and guess what? he aint gonna end up at his hotel, hes gonna end up in kwamashu or somewhere with his throat slit and his camera awol.

im planning on getting the hell out before the swc for the entire duration. safer that way.

Some basic facts:

1. Almost no one really knows what's happening outside of SA - we all think they don't but they don't Many of my suppliers in the USA & Europe tell me they've heard that there are some power issues but bugger all else.

2. Sitting overseas you see almost nothing of South Africa in the news at all.

3. Many Travel agents will do their best to sell SA as a tourist destination for 2010 - no matter the risks.

4. It's only those people who know about the situation here that will not pitch for 2010.

5. I don't see any sports body falling over themselves to allow us to host anything further.

6. S. Africa is doomed - there is no future for whites here - when everything has been eaten by the elite, when all the infrastructure built up in the past has been destroyed, then and only then will Joe Public realise that voting in the ANC was the biggest mistake of his life, and maybe not even then..............

zambussi, even then they wont realise as the govt spin doctors would have done their jobs and even if the country's infrastructure totally collapses and this happens in 36 years time so ie 50 years after apartheid, apartheid will still be blamed.

im sorry but until everyone ignores the past and focuses on the present and the future nothing will change

Hey buddy how about you come up with something more original...hey? That line has been beaten to death on MyADsl and you won't score any more browny points by repeating what has been said a gazillion times already......

However I have to ask you what the connection between this and the soccer event is?

Its just silly kids trolling the whole time, trying to bitch at the country whenever they get the chance.

when 2010 happens i will be laughing at the nay sayers..like when greece wasnt ready for the olympics,it still happened.

So i will keep my lolattack in reserve.

I dont' understand why people really bother... if you gonna leave the country... just do so... stop threatning to do.. just go... period. I'm getting a little tired of people moaning about this that and the other as if this is only unique to South Africa.

:mad::mad:

if some people have already decided they have no future..then they prob dont have a future

People have the right to their opinions - and the right to voice them, no matter how irritating others may find it. The fact is there is a lot of different shyte going down in this country all at the same time - and it's a lot worse here than most other places. So suck it up. Nobody takes a decision to leave a country where they spent their whole lives easily.

Either you are psychic or none of those are facts, they are all personal opinions. And mostly irrelevant.

1. Almost no one really knows what's happening outside of SA - we all think they don't but they don't Many of my suppliers in the USA & Europe tell me they've heard that there are some power issues but bugger all else.

Whats your point? How does this tie in with South Africa successfully hosting the world cup? We didnt get much german news before they hosted the world cup. In fact I cant recall when last I heard news from Reyjkavik either

2. Sitting overseas you see almost nothing of South Africa in the news at all.

Repetition of your point 1.

3. Many Travel agents will do their best to sell SA as a tourist destination for 2010 - no matter the risks.

This is true, I will give you that much! Whats the problem with that though? Have you ever heard of a company trying to sell something to you by explaining why you shouldnt buy their product?

4. It's only those people who know about the situation here that will not pitch for 2010.

Merely an opinion and certainly not true. Many will take the risk - football is a religion to some, and their teams are the gods. I know of numerous UK citizens coming over, and it certainly isnt their first visit - they know the problems

5. I don't see any sports body falling over themselves to allow us to host anything further.

Again, an opinion - not a fact! Dont count your chickens before they hatch. The stadiums arent even built yet and you are writing us off. Save this comment for after the WC!

6. S. Africa is doomed -there is no future for whites here - when everything has been eaten by the elite, when all the infrastructure built up in the past has been destroyed, then and only then will Joe Public realise that voting in the ANC was the biggest mistake of his life, and maybe not even then

Again, merely an opinion until you can provide proof that we are doomed. And what does the future of a white man have to do with hosting the world cup?
