HAs anyone actually been successful in applying for tickets using the FIFA site? I just registered there and am stuck in an endless loop whenever I try to click on the "Application" link. It says you have to be logged in to apply. Gee, do these Euro-weenies have a different way of logging in that I don't know about?

Fifa's website is a nightmare to navigate. I gave up long ago. It's simply too much!

The only problem I had was navigating the site to purchase the tickets. Everything else like the registration process worked fine.

Applied for the semi-final in CPT :D

I had no issues. Have used the website for three phases now. Got tickets for the first phase and was unsuccesfull for the second and we will see for the third. If its going in a loop at the moment, it is most likely that the site is currently overloaded.

What so hard?? You go to the world cup section and then click on ticketing and then follow the prompts.

This may be a dumb question, but did you create an account? You need a FIFA.com account to apply for tickets on the website. I got all 3 of my games from the site. I still need to apply again in this phase.

Ja, I did. I appear to be logged in but when I start the application it bounces me to the login screen for a few seconds and then tells me I am not logged in, when I am (according to the box top right).

I am using Firefox on Snow Leopard.

I applied for tickets. Fingers-crossed.

I have successfully applied for Brazil v Portugal in Durban and Denmark v Netherlands in Joburg. :D

Now I wait crossing fingers, toes, legs, etc and hope I will be successful. Got to wait for February. :(

I really hope my applications are successful.

My games:

Argentina v Nigeria (Ellis Park Stadium)
Cameroon v Denmark (Loftus Versfeld Stadium)
South Africa v Mexico (Soccer City Stadium)
Brazil v Côte d'Ivoire (Soccer City Stadium)
R16 - 1C v 2D (if all goes to plan will be England v Serbia @ Royal Ba***eng Stadium)
Final (Soccer City Stadium)
Spain v Honduras (Ellis Park Stadium)

Does anyone know when we will know if our apps are successful?

Sometime after the 22, with the first phase it took 4-5 days.

Good luck for that one!

I've alrady got South Korea vs Greece, Germany vs Serbia and Round of 16 1A vs 2B.

In this phase I applied for Ivory Coast vs Portugal, Slovenia vs England, PE's Quarter final and the 3rd/4th play off. All my games are in PE.

When I can walk in or surf to a site, choose the seats at a game as one does at the movies, pay AND receive confirmation of obtaining the tickets there and then I will buy them. Otherwise I and 44 000 000 ZA'ns are not interested in the stupid FIFA system.

You don't try you don't get. Worth a shot.

From April you will be able to buy tickets "over the counter" at ticket booths around the country. Similar to what they did in the confed cup. So for those of you who gave up on the online application you can wait for this.

Also, don't forget about applications through FNB bank.

You claim to speak on behalf of a LOT of South Africans.

Well they claim to only have sold a few hundred thousand tickets to ZA'ns and there are ~45 million of us so the maths kind of adds up.
