I really hope you are wrong, but this is my biggest fear as well. Hopefully it will be priced below the Golf R that it is apparently competing against... Holding thumbs
 
So do I. I would love one, but alas, going to be way too expensive for my blood. Even the Golf R is over R500K.

It needs to come in cheaper than the Golf R, if not I see them struggling to sell.
 
Sadly, it looks like the massive devil horns rear spoiler and light is only for the concept. Based on the latest spy shots and videos, it looks like the Type R will have regular taillights, a tiny stick on spoiler and a much more conventional overall shape and look. For me, if it doesn't look 95% like the concept, I'm not interested anymore. The outrageous spoiler and devil lights really made it look insanely menacing and special.

Looks better without that "over the top" spoiler. I think if it was faster than the SEAT around the ring, we would have heard about it by now.

Nope, this is the test mule used to test mechanical bits. The one going on sale with closely resemble the concept. With most parts being carried over. The one in camo is merely for engine and drive train testing. So no need to worry about it.

Yip Honda, they taking preorders. The price is a rough estimate of what they think it will be.
I think it will cost more by the time its released. If it gets closer to R500k it wont sell well being a FWD.
 
The Golf R is already within smelling distance of R500k. R460k seems a bit of a bargain. It's only R45k more than GTi money.
