2015 Civic Type R

FWD Civics have won the BTCC for four consecutive years now, beating the RWD competition from BMW and others. BTCC Civics make around 360hp. ;)

I don't understand your reasoning.
Awd is superior. Wasting time on a powerful fwd is just stupid. Adding a huge (ugly looking) rear boot spoiler, LSD, other aerodynamics because it's fwd.
The buyers will also modify the car further and realise they wasting their time and money on a fwd.

Besides that Seat fwd already did a sub 8 min lap, same/ similar horse power. That was built and designed in 6 months.

You go say that to the guys running KO4 turbo setups in their front wheel drive GTIs. Those things make some serious power on the front wheels and annihilate a lot of big boys

I'm sure they all wishing they has that same power in a AWD.

Out of interest, how many of you here seen the new RS7 AWD against its competitors?

YouTube the car magazine tests.

Awd is superior.

I never said it wasn't. awd is king.

My comment was on the fwd limits. Sure it's not limitless but countless times in the past someone has said 'ah wait, you can't have more than 100kw on a fwd drive' until some manufacturer comes out with something better and then there's a 'new limit' and they don't drive like custard either.

There's a ford focus with about 250kw out there somewhere and many other examples.

Some new vids of the concept.. This is shaping up nicely!!

Can't wait anymore...

And another...

I am sure this is the radical design change the guys were hoping for. I know it is the one I was dreaming of :)

Front looks good, those "devil" horns at the back is a serious no no.
Like wont even take it for R100 000, no no...

What happened considering an S2000? Rather get that, because rear wheel drive... :p

S2000 is the next planned upgrade to last a few years, followed by a Civic Type R. I certainly won't buy a CTR new, some other guy can take the initial hit. :p Will get a low mileage 1 or 2 year old one at a later stage.

I really hope that they will make all my dreams come true and keep it as close to this concept as possible. But all things are currently pointing towards the car looking very similar to this concept! Already on the Honda UK site as well..

Adds popping up on billboards across the UK. One of the best looking hatches in the history of hatches :)
