2016 Hyundai Tucson (3rd Generation)

Looks nothing like Kuga/Eco. It looks like a Sante Fe and I like that.
 
It looks pretty much exactly like the current ix35 with the new "santa fe" bumper on the front and new wheels to me. I'm sure the local models won't come with that nice dash in the screen etc, that's usually the case. A car is announced and they show off the "top spec" pics for europe and then we get basic spec here.
 
I like most of it. What I find particularly irritating is this new trend started by Toyota (I think, that's where I saw it first), where light assemblies protrude outside of the vehicle body. To me light assemblies should be flush or slightly indented from the body, so that it is protected by the body of the vehicle. Light assemblies now days are hideously expensive, and having them exposed to unnecessary damage is just unforgivable.
 
Regarding the in-dash screen- Hyundai are one of the members of the Open Automotive Alliance, and will support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay with their built-in solutions.

That screen looks like the one found in the Sonata- which is 8".

Agree with you on the protruding lights. I also first noticed it on a Toyota.

Yup this was a no-brainer. It's a pain having to flip stations to better the signal.

So 2016? Maybe I might replace my ix35 with the Tucson. Going to depend on interior specs, especially the boot space.

I love my ix35. It's a diesel and I love the drive. Relentless up the hills. Smooth and carries anything I put in it without any strain. Just miss the boot space I had with my Jetta. Who knows one day I will drive an SUV that has boot space. That or it'll have to be a roof box.

Nonetheless, the pics ^ looks very good.
 
Sounds easy enough, I'll try it this weekend. Might do some research first. Unless someone else is willing to experiment for the benifit of society? :whistle:

I did it and it worked here on my i30. My manager did the same to his i20 (2010 model) and it also worked. But if you do it and the apocalypse comes or Koeberg explodes or your radio catches fire or ninjas slash your tyres, don't come running to me...:D
 
Are there any links for the vehicle locally, i.e. the specifications, etc?

would this work on an ix35?
 
I always thought the Tucson was sold alongside the iX35 and not the same thing?
 
I see the new Tucson will also be sporting 19 inch rims. Tire prices are insane for 19 inch rims in SA.
