They are not a spotless company. Far from it, for a start I can think of two troublesome letters, GM. The list is much longer than that.

I see CarBuyer loves the new Astra.

They are impressed on many levels with it.

Very impressed how Mat came so close to the cars quoted/claimed fuel consumption. I sense no #dieselgate scandal here

Only 2 niggles for me is:

1) no rear vents for back passengers. Even a G5 has this.

2) Opel persist with placing the the side indicators on the car body & not on the door mirrors like everyone else. Indicators just look that more classy when mounted on your door mirrors.

The side mirrors on the body is one of the things I like about Opel. It is much cheaper to replace mirrors when they get swiped.

My only gripe is the price, no longer are they affordable German cars for the rest of the people. They have gone premium so now most of those who could afford them have to settle for Korean derivatives that share some components and wear a golden bow tie.

Still a beautiful car, wonder of they will make a Twintop of the K? That will be very pretty. Then I can get depressed about not being able to afford one in a decade or so

Cool vid...

Liked the GTE; IIRC only the five-door made it into SA & without the rear fogs. Otherwise the car was the same sans Vauxhall badge.

Too much, with Opel being bumped up to a premium brand we'll have to settle for [-]Deawoo[/-] Chevy. Good thing is you should be able to pick one up a few years later for a reasonable price.
