2017 International Tests

I had no idea the French were this awful this year, holy hell. Just hope it's not all roses and unicorns after playing scrubs like this.

P.S - so the player numbers are the same mtn yellow ..... so much for the green and gold :erm:

I agree. Did not support momentum at all, even when the Lions were unable to slow the ball down he simply stopped played. Then I thought, maybe he is more used to the French league? But then to take notice how he handled the scrums... Dubious.

I also agree that the Lions improved, they resolved the many issues that they have experienced with their kicking game, cleaned it up and applied the pressure on the return. They also carried stronger in their set plays. It may have been that Gatland experimented which play style will work best, but the kicking in the prior two games was totally directionless. It reminded me on how the Sunwolves play Super Rugby, kick, kick, kick… without any control. The thing is, the Saders was hurdled in playing their game, that in return gives more confidence to the opposition.

Yeah, that's Murray and Darrell's touch. Insane precision with their kicks. And they were very good in the air, too. Crusaders also missed Crotty in the midfield. Havili has played fullback all season and the gets put into centre. Bad decision.

Not sure if anyone watched the Argentina/England game now. What a second half! Back and forth, end to end. Simply insane rugby.

Awesome game of rugby!! Boks are a fair way off playing with that cohesion and accuracy. Rugby championship is going to be testing...

At least today's win gives some hope that the Boks might one day be able to play with the Big Boys again. I really hope Allister Coetzee has finally moved away from the ugly negative Jakeball rugby he learned under a former coach.

It was quite a great game to watch. Roses had to dig deep for the win. Really missed their top players!

Was good to see another SA player make his debut for England - Don Armand.

Japan has lost their 'best' winger and co-captain in the clash against the Romanians. Harumichi Tatekawa which have only recently recuperated is out again, playing only two matches on his return. Akihito Yamada, also only playing two matches this season as he took a sabbatical due to personal reasons. Japan will be calling up Sunwolves centre, Ryohei Yamanaka, and university student, Seiya Ozaki.

I wonder now whether Michael Leitch will be made captain, because Shota Horie (co-captain) is also plagued with niggles. Japan will be playing a stronger team against the Irish, but they will surely miss Tatekawa and especially Yamada.

I checked the game between Japan and Romania, the Sunwolves must give a start and more game time to Jumpei Ogura, he screams speed into the backline. I understand why they play Yu Tamura, more experienced, better kicker and the Sunwolves play a kicking game, but Ogura slotted 18 points on Saturday. Ogura was also named MotM.

Jesse Kriel ruled out of the second test with concussion. He should be available for the third test though, so it looks precautionary more than anything...

The true test against the French are coming up, most pivots are returning to international duty. We played 2nd string last weekend, with many 1st choices sitting on the bench coming up late into the game.
