Bentley South Africa has added the new Continental GT Mulliner to its local range, offered in both coupé and convertible body styles.
Described as the “new luxury pinnacle” of the Continental GT family, the Mulliner models offer buyers “even wider possibilities” to commission a unique vehicle to their individual specification.
So, how much are you looking at here? Well, thanks to our studious colleagues over at duoporta.com, we know the Continental GT Mulliner Coupé starts at R5 420 000 (or R5 620 000 should you upgrade the standard three-year driveplan to five years), while the Continental GT Mulliner Convertible is priced from R5 800 000 (or a round R6 000 000 with the five-year cover specified).
For the record, that makes the Mulliner coupé some R1 460 000 pricier than the standard W12 model, with the Mulliner convertible coming in at R1 450 000 more than the standard W12 soft-top.
What sets these Mulliner models apart? British firm promises new range-topping grand tourer is 'most performance-focused' model yetThe new Bentley Continental GT Speed will be revealed next week, with company bosses vowing that the range-topping version of its grand tourer will be its “most capable, performance-focused” model yet.
The British firm has confirmed that the new Speed version of the latest Continental GT will be unveiled in an online event on 23 March. The third generation of the two-door grand tourer has been on sale since 2018.

Luxury coupé gets a small power boost and chassis trickery including an electric limited-slip diff
Bentley has reprised the Speed badge for the new top-rung, performance-focused version of the Continental GT - described as "the most dynamic road car in Bentley's 101-year history".
With 650bhp and 664lb ft from an uprated version of the firm’s 6.0-litre W12 engine, the most potent version of the luxury coupé can do 0-62mph in just 3.5sec and tops out at 208mph. That makes it roughly as quick in a straight line as a rear-driven Lamborghini Hurácan.
In Sport mode, the W12 has been retuned to extend the 'power band' by shifting up a gear later, and down earlier - keeping revs towards the top of the range. The faster gear changes are accompanied by a "greater exhaust character" in Sport mode.
As with its predecessor, the new Speed also promises improved dynamics, bringing a raft of chassis upgrades over the standard car.
The Speed gains carbon-ceramic brakes and 10-piston front calipers as standard, and uses an uprated version of the larger Flying Spur's all-wheel steering system. At low to medium speeds, the rear wheels turn in the opposite direction to the fronts to reduce the turning circle, while at higher speeds they match the front wheels to improve stability.

Part of the “Speed” treatment includes a shot in the arm for the twin-turbocharged 6,0-litre W12 engine, which now makes a heady 485 kW (up from 467 kW). Peak twisting force is unchanged at 900 N.m, again directed to all four wheels. The result is a top speed of 335 km/h (up two units) and a sprint from zero to 100 km/h in a claimed 3,6 seconds (an improvement of one-tenth of a second).
Bentley says both the four-seater grand tourer’s engine and transmission have been “deliberately calibrated” to suit the car’s driver-focused credentials. In Sport mode, for instance, the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission up-shifts later and downshifts earlier. Indeed, the automaker says the gearbox is “twice as fast” in Sport mode as it is in the standard W12 model.
What else sets the Speed model apart? The Bentley Continental GT Speed Convertible has been revealed just in time for the European Spring season. It enters the range as an open-top alternative to the coupe that was revealed last month.
Bearing the Speed moniker, it uses the same 6,0-litre W12 engine with a 485 kW and 900 N.m of torque power output delivered to all four wheels via an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. In Convertible guise, it will hit 0-100 km/h in 3,7 seconds and reach a top speed of 355 km/h.
Key dynamic features such as the rear-biased torque-split, improved cornering dynamics, three-chamber active air suspension with adaptive damping, the 48V active anti-roll control and the carbon ceramic brake system have been carried over from the coupe.
This model features Bentley’s ‘Z-fold’ tailored roof, available in seven different shades, that can be opened or closed in 19 seconds at the touch of a button up to speeds of 50 km/h. Visually, the Continental GT Speed Convertible sets itself apart with unique exterior and interior detailing including Speed sport sills, Dark Tint grilles and Speed badging.
