MG Motor India, which recently launched the updated 2021 ZS EV, is now planning to bring in an electric vehicle, which will have a range of up to 500 km.
Speaking to carandbike, Gaurav Gupta, Chief Commercial Officer, MG Motor India, said that the company is looking to source a bigger EV battery which can offer a range of up to 500 km.
However, right now, there is no confirmation on whether the battery will be used in the ZS EV or a new product altogether, however, Gupta said that MG will decide that once they source the new battery.

A trademark filing by MG India suggests that the upcoming petrol version of the MG ZS could be named Astor. The SUV will be launched in Q3 2021.
The petrol ZS will be based on the facelift version that gets a few cosmetic updates including a reworked front fascia and new headlamp clusters. It also gets redesigned front and rear bumpers along with dual-tone alloy wheels.
On the inside, it gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment head-unit that is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 360-degree camera, and a flat-bottom steering wheel.
In India, the ZS will be offered with two petrol engine options. These include a 1.5-litre unit producing 118 BHP and 150 Nm and a 1.3-litre turbocharged engine with 161 BHP and 230 Nm. Expect it to come with a choice of manual and automatic transmissions.
