It’s consumers that ensured the demand continues. Most of the manufacturers kept the sedans in the line up together with the Cross-overs but the consumers started choosing the crossovers.

VW kept the Jetta going for a while yet no one was buying it. Toyota still has the Corolla sedan but that won’t be for long. The Corolla Cross is the in thing atm.
