Hi Telkom Mobile,
This offer has to be the best kept secret ever. I have contacted 081180 twice now. The first time they knew nothing about it but after the rep spoke to his supervisor he said it was handled by Durban and some would contact me – no one did. The second time not only did they not know anything about it they said I have to go to a Telkom store to have my credit worthiness checked.
Please help.

Yeah, exact same thing happened. The stores have no idea about this offer. MyBB seems to be the place to be! :D

BTW, Big up, Telkom Mobile! I'm more than happy with the quality of service I'm receiving!

Even with renewals, the staff in the stores are not aware of this. I wanted to renew, they wanted me to bring my ID book, payslips, proof of residence, the works, as if to take out a new contract.

I never said go into the store...

I've already renewed, I just posted this here for others who are thinking of going to a store to get this done.

I had the same issue a few weeks ago. After the people at the store couldn't help me, I got an email from the manager, saying that no such deal exists.

The deal is only targeted at the customers who are due for renewal and the process is to forward us your details so that we escalated to Loyalty Team to assist.

We have sent your details to the Loyalty Team and they will contact you to confirm the renewal.

How long before your contract expires do you need to ask Telkom about this? My contract expires in Dec.

You will be fine, mine was going to expire in December, and I upgraded this month. I think that you can upgrade 3 or 4 months before you're contract is up.

My contract is almost up for renewal but if I've only had the 10gb contract (without midnight surfer) do I also qualify for the 10+10 for R199 or is it only for customers who have had 10+10 from the start?
