20GB for R199?

I have been contacted by the call centre by a Bonolo @ ESOC with regards my one contract being cancelled without me requesting it. He said the was a request in September to have the contract cancelled, but I was actually just requesting the cost of a cancellation, and not a cancellation via the call centre. (This after trying to find out the cost at a TM store in centurion, which wasnt possible they told me to contact the call centre.) He said he would provide feedback to me the next day, ie Wednesday. He is yet to get back to me.

I dont mind the contract being cancelled as it was more of a backup sim and was only R50 a month and due to end early next year iirc. What im worried about is the cancellation fee that I will be charged. This would be more expensive than just letting the contract run out. Unless there is no cancellation or other fees due, then I guess it can be left as is.

But how will I be able to find this out before any costs gets pulled from my account.
In actual fact Im a bit scared to call the call centre again in case they cancel another contract.

We are currently working on rectifying the issue. All customers will be credited and put back on the correct price plan.

I am also being charged for CLIP but not on the main sim but n the secondary sim that i took 3 months back. I would also like to know if I can cancel this or is it mandatory?
On my 10 gig bill i am being charged R8 a month for CLIP. how can i stop this?. WTF��

I am getting the following after renewal of my contract.
10 gig anytime data+ 10 gig night surfer data.
The cost is R199.
The first invoice I got after renewal says the recurring cost is R299. But the telkom mobile confirmed that it will be changed to R199.
Telkom rep. Pls explain how this loyalty promotion works?
How many gigs we get for R199?

I just left an 8ta store, and got nothing. The man who deals with their internet contracts hadn't heard of the deal. When I asked for the call centre, the lady I spoke to didn't know of it either. She spoke to the man in the store, and he hung up. I was then tolf that the offer can't exist!

After quite a while dealing with the call centre, I eventually got through to a man named Abdul in the data division. He found that I am elligible for the deal, and says that I should get a call in the next 72 hours.

That would be fine, .. IF we were rewarded.

Don't know if you read my earlier posts, .. but, in the first month of my new 2 year contract, I was billed R399 for a 10Gb + 10Gb NS. When I queried it, .. TM insisted that I had requested an additional 10Gb NS, .. which I hadn't. According to them I was now on a 10Gb + 20Gb NS.

The reality was, .. that on checking my available data .. it showed 10Gb + 10Gb., .. so, I was paying R399 for 20Gb!! :wtf:

As a result of my queries, they removed the 'additional' 10Gb NS, .. but, removed my original 10Gb NS as well!!. :wtf:

So, as of the 1st of October, after paying R299 the day before ... I now ONLY have 10Gb. That's it!!

Anyway, I had a call from a chap in Support this past Friday, the 4th of Oct, .. to inform me that they are going to put my 10Gb NS back in place, .. and be credited R100, .. and, that going forward my account shall reflect 10Gb + 10Gb for R199. :)

Still waiting for my 10Gb NS ... with baited breath. :whistling:

So, .. progress .. and it's only taken from the 6th of Sept i.e. >30 days to get to this point. :whistling:

I'm almost dreading seeing my next TM statement .. the concern being, that once they put the 10Gb NS back, .. I'm going to be billed an additional R100pm.. :erm:

.. and that would put me right back at square one. :crying:


Some reward I've received for being on contract with TM for over 2 years. :love:

Everyone has different experiences it seems.
I have never had an issue with my 8ta 10gb package.
That being said, I did not continue the package on a month to month basis so I cannot say if it would have continued without hassle.
