There are quite a few of those. Which one?

Ok they're all pretty much the same.
I'm getting between -50 to -60 dBm where I usually keep it.

That is a very strong signal.

Next thing would be if TM upgrade your tower, like they did where I live. :D

No remember the sim is in the mifi and app on tablet. So it's only measuring strength from mifi to tablet. Even if I'm only getting 2mbps now.

Do speedtest then & check speed from mifi.

You will need to do it a few times.

Is TM having network problems in CT? I've not had any issues for the past two years but it's been terrible since the beginning of Feb when my initially i5 promo expired and I renewed it. Had intermittent signal for the past 2 days.

I had lots of signal problems recently until at one stage it refused to connect at all (the router said "invalid sim card or no sim card found". Phoned TM technical dept. and she said the SIM card is probably faulty...she didn't even mention that the router might be broken even after I mentioned it as an option.

Took the SIM to a TM store, they tested it and sure enough - ****ed. Did a SIM swop for R35, plugged it in, had some "Data bundle expired" issues, next morning 7AM all was well an good. Had no signal problems for the last 3 days.

My sim swap was done for free since it was the network that ****ed up my simcard.

Prepaid users have a option to activate the below bundles on their SIM:

- 2 GB + 1GB for R149 ( data expires at the end of the next calender month from the day of activation)
- 25GB +25GB for R999 once off ( data is available for 6 months form the day of activation)
- 60GB + 60GB for R1800 once off ( data is available for 12 months from the date of activation)

Please note that the bundles will only work on Telkom Mobile covered areas only and you cannot roam on MTN.

I had the same package on contract. I didn't renew it and it automatically became a prepaid package. Well worth it if you ask me.

I was told the same thing when I went to cancel my contract. I was skeptical though. But if its working for you then I will wait for mine to end and go month-on-month :)

Is anybody else getting "Out of Bundle" warnings etc. when they haven't reached their cap yet? Every now and again I am redirected to the oo site but when I check my balance I still have 5GB + 9GB left (15 minutes later everything is fine again).

Hi Hamster

As advised telephonically, please delete the cookies and clear browsing history when you experience the Out of bundle warning. Once done please reboot your device and try to connect. Should the problem persists please don't hesitate to contact us so we can investigate further.

I'll do it when I get the warning again although I'm doubtful. You're assuming that the problem only happens when I'm using my browser - the Facebook, Twitter, [Insert App using internet here] apps all stop working when it happens.

It is worth mentioning that I did do a SIM swop this month so maybe something went screwy on your billing system. Hopefully it sorts itself out by the end of this month when the new bundle comes into effect else I'll come hammering on your door expecting a better answer than "clear your cookies and restart your router".

How do we renew the deal? I have not received any communication about this, and I'm pretty sure my contract is over next month?

Can't wait for my Telkom Mobile Internet 5 promo contract to be cancelled! Very soon will have more ADSL data thanks to the money freed up by this and the current price drops from ADSL ISP's. Sorry, just wanted to brag. :whistling:

Well it is still an issue - on the first of the month I get an SMS saying I've used all my cap (all 10GB).

EDIT:

Good day,
The reason you’re experiencing frequent disconnection, is your network mode is on Automatic which allows the sim to skip between two networks.
Disconnect and go to settings > dial up > networks > change the preferred mode to 3G (only), not preferred. Network search on manual and apply.
It will search for available networks and register on either 65502, ZAF-02, or SA-02, that shouls sort it out by stabilising the connection on 8ta 3G.

See, this is a much better answer...

Hi,

I received an SMS that because my current Internet 5 Promo contract is due for renewal, I am eligible for an exclusive offer to get an additional 10gb night data free.

Can some-one please explain what this entails? My current contract is 10gb + 10gb for R299pm?

Thanks!
