Depleted my 2nd 60GB+60GB promo today. Sent TM an email today requesting a migration to this contract. Hopefully their response will be favorable.

Telkom Mobile, during September last year you indicated that I should contact you directly via email once my 60+60 is depleted so that you could assist me in getting this deal. Now I'm told that it is only for I5 promo clients. Well, I knew that & you said that you would assist.

What now??

Hi rph72

The R199 Internet 5 promo deal is only for the customers that are due for renewal. If you subscribe for the new deal you will be required to pay R299 per month.

Why would A'shiq give me his email address if he wouldn't have been able to help me. He should have told me then in September. :(

Just too bad for me since the deal sounds nice but my internet 5 promo contract expires in March 2014 and I cannot afford the possible risk of any billing mistakes on the newer loyalty promo since the recent interest rate hike has now increased all my loan repayments with immediate effect.

On the plus side I have enjoyed your previous i5 promo contract but interest rate hikes just messed up my monthly expenditure.

Contract expires in April and TM called me to upgrade.

You can upgrade after 21 months

I have just sent in my cancellation form request today and hopefully will be in the clear by beginning of March. The 24 month contract is too long to be tied down especially in light of the recent bold stance from ICASA. :)

If you think you will get 10GB + 10GB for less than R199 in two years time, dream on.

And if you think two years is long on a mobile contract, you will never own a car or a house. :D

Is TM having network problems in CT? I've not had any issues for the past two years but it's been terrible since the beginning of Feb when my initially i5 promo expired and I renewed it. Had intermittent signal for the past 2 days.

If everybody thinks like you then we would be nowhere WRT cheaper consumer pricing. I would advise you to read previous posts in a thread before answering a post next time 'cause it makes you look like a fool. :D

Please show me where I can get 10gb of mobile data for less than R199.
That was my concern more than 2 years ago before I signed up.

No other service provider has offered anything close to the data deals from TM.

So why would TM lower their prices even more, if there are no competition?

I think MTN is doing the "buy 500MB and get 150MB free" for only R99 deal. Wow, so awesome.

I just did a speedtest and still get my 12Mbps download speed. Tyger Valley.

Maybe a problem in the Southern Suburbs?

I've never gotten that high. My maximum is around 7. Usually it's between 2-4. I'm using the afrihost mofo and signal is usually on orange but it's been red the past couple of days. I hardly ever get green.

Edit : Afrihost mifi :D but I'll keep it as mofo

I use an app from the Play Store, called wifi analyzer, to find the best spot in my apartment. It's normally in the window, and helped me a lot.

You only need to do it once, so it's worth it.

There are quite a few of those. Which one?

Ok they're all pretty much the same.
I'm getting between -50 to -60 dBm from the couch and -20 where the device is.
