@TelkomMobile What about existing prepaid users can we not take advantage of this promotion on a month-to-month basis without all the vetting.

2nd that, but doubt Telkom would fall for it.

Was at Telkom Mobile store in Adderley Street. They didn't seem to know what I was talking about even after I showed then the myBB article. The assistant kept telling me they renew on month 22 not 21.

@RazedInBlack rather contact the support desk on 180, they will have more details about this deal, that is happening. It can be done over the telephone if not mistaken

I phoned the 081 180 number and they didn't seem to have a clue about this special offer..but my contract only ends in April 2014


I got a call from Telkom Mobile just now and I don't qualify for the deal as my contract only expires in April 2014. They said if the deal is still valid in January 2014 I will qualify for it then.

Tried to log on today only to be refused a connection and received the sms:
Your service has been interrupted, plse contact the 8.ta call centre on 081 180. Regards 8.ta Team

After that sms I got this one: Dear customer, please expect an important call from our team at Telkom Mobile regarding your Data product contract. We would like to extend your offer to another 24 months at R199 with an additional 10GB night surfer. T's and C's apply.

Very nice way of trying to convince me to stay guys... :wtf:
Still have half of my data left (which is a miracle in itself) and now can't use it...

Seriously considering going with an ADSL option if this is Telkom Mobile way of doing business. After the 8ta branding fell so did my speeds (from constant 700kbps to 300kbps - though much more reliable) - come on guys... /rant

Tried renewing with this special and the call centre did not have a clue...

I get a consistent 800-1000kbps.

Hello Telkom Mobile rep. My girlfriend just phoned 081180 cause the contract is under her name and I'm at work but I heard the recording of the call.
They told my gf that my contract expires on the 3rd of next month. My girlfriend doesn't know what's going on but the other person on the phone from 8ta didn't mention anything about renewing the 10+10 gb for R199
Also she said that we must go into a Telkom store to renew it?
I'm not sure but I haven't really heard any one here saying they had to go into the store to renew but maybe I missed something.
I wanna call on Saturday to renew it but I'm little worried that the person I talk to isn't going to know what's going on...
