2TB Anytime data

Testing throughout the day and speeds seem to be stable in the 40 - 47 Mbs up and 20 down range. With a -85 dBm signal with antenna attached I must say I expected more of a speed increase. This is pretty on par or just slightly higher than with only the router placed in the one perfectly optimal spot in the house.

I'm not on the 2TB deal yet. This is all prep to see if it would be worth it for me.

What's the correct APN details for Telkom? This was a router from Afrihost someone wanted to sell. The profile name is "Afrihost Fixed LTE" and APN set to "internet". Is there anything I need to change or any other setting which could affect speeds?
You can try unrestricted and internet with same profile name

I wonder if another router might help? I used to use the I think 315 and went to the 618 and was literally dbled

If you get a Huawei 618 - 65 you will double your speed.

Looks like band 3. Have you tried rebooting router between adjustments? I don't think you can force a band with the ZTE... Tried the sim in your mobile?

Yes, did some testing on my mobile wifi hotspot and according to that it seems Band 3 is the only band Telkom is running on here.

Phone gives pretty much the same speeds.

Dont know if you know carbonite

I didn't. Will keep an eye out on there.

But I doubt that the B618 would be much help if we only get Band 3 here?

Just activated this on my account, however it doesn’t appear on my account dashboard. Anything else I need to do?

NVM, I see it takes a while to update.

I just placed this behind my TV and this is what I get, 3 times faster than my WISP for R300 less. I also found my Xpol 6 so gonna set it up when I have time one of these days.

Which router are you using?

Worth placing it in different spots in your house. I found a 'godly' spot that made my upload jump to 22 Mbs from 5 Mbs.

Decided to take modem to work to test. 600m from tower with clear line of sight. -92 dBm signal strength.

Ping: 43ms
Download: 33.17Mbps
Upload: 17.37Mbps

Ping: 41ms
Download: 41.83Mbps
Upload: 20.8Mbps

Would the TP-Link Mr600 be a good option if I can't source a 618?
I currently have this router. Get between 70-100 Mbps out on the farm with xpol-6 (Band 40+40)

Please do try get the MR600 v2, and not the v1. Will make your life easier. v1 you have to flash custom firmware to enable band select.

*edit after reading your other posts:
If you only have Band 3 available, don't expect 100Mbps. I don't even think Telkom does carrier aggregation with band 3. For the best speeds you need to have Band 40. I don't think you will get better speeds on any router if band 3 is your only option sadly.
