384 Kbps to 1 Mbps Upgrades

Hmmmm... very nice news.
My linespeed also says 1Mbs on the Telkom webpage... router says 379, so I phoned Telkom and they said to phone during business hours on a weekday. So will do that tomorrow.
I also tried phoning Cybersmart... my ADSL line is still with them (I know I know) and their * uhm * efficient helpdesk minion stated that "Telkom will only do the line upgrades at the end of October"... and that I should not even bother phoning until then.

Call now and ask them to Upgrade your adsl profile. They will reset it and bobs your uncle!

If you do not call telkom will the line speed automatically upgrade to 1mbps?
Yes, but that will only happen in a few weeks.
Hmmm... I get asked about which cellphone number for Telkom fault report if I follow that. Silly automated telephone answering robot!

Okay I just phoned them and the guy told me it will be automatically upgraded tonight at midnight. How true that is I don't know.
Dude, just ask the person to "Reset your ADSL Profile" and they will reset it while you're on the phone, then restart the router and it will be 1Mbps. Thats IT.

Awesome! Thought it was gonna be only by the end of October (after the delay from July) but this is great news! Phoned Telkom, first person told me that Telkom is not authorizing them to do it manually due to congestion and sync problems...phoned again, another guy upgraded it no questions asked
