Phoned twice, first guy had no idea what I was talking about. Apparently there's something wrong with my line and the guy (2nd guy) couldn't reset the ports

He's not the only one. after using 384 for years. 1mb feels like I'm in Internet heaven.

So now we can expect the internet to crash and burn for the next month or two. A lot of people stuck on stone-age speeds are now going to abuse the crap out of their lines.

Well, things are still going to suck for me. I've gotten so used to my parents' 2mb line that 1mb is going to feel slow again when I go back to my flat tomorrow.
At least it's better than going from 2mb back to 384. :wtf:

I have a similiar issue. 4Mbps at parents house, 384 at my flat.
Hopefully I've been upgraded to 1Mbps, can't check yet!

Yeah, the Telkom tool shows that mine is now 1mbps, but I'll probably have to phone in tomorrow to get it to sync at that speed.

Did mine at about 15:10, finished the call about 10 minutes later. I asked the guy whether there's something wrong because my line isn't syncing properly (which it doesn't, in ADSL2+ mode). He checked and said "I see you're still on 384. Let me update that to 1 Mbps for you." Was as easy as that.

Just restarted my router, no upgrade, so it is untrue.
Yes, and if they ask you for a reason why you want them to reset the account you just say "I'm not syncing at the correct speed, it should be 1Mbps and not 384kbps".
That is what I did and it worked.
It is not an automated upgrade, you have to call them if you want them to upgrade the speed(reset the profile).
Otherwise it will happen when they feel up to it, and that can take up to 6 weeks.
