384 Kbps to 1 Mbps Upgrades

Woohoo! Third times the charm

1. Lady says telkom will do it automatically in oct/nov blah blah
2. Lady says she cant do it, i chose the wrong option(weird since this is the same one i phoned for try 1) should have pressed 3 instead of 2, she puts through to "3"
3. Tell her to sync my line to a 1 meg DONE!

Thanks for the tip guys. I just asked to reset my port, and very helpful agent said he would at the same time check if he could push my line to 1Mbps. 2 minutes and a router reset later and I've been upgraded. Not something I often say, but congrats to Telkom.
 
I'm upgraded too. Easy, thanks to everyone here.
 
Asked them to reset the adsl profile but that didn't increase the speed. What should I have said?
 
Seems like my area can barely handle 1Mb/s, telkom site says 1Mb but my downloads are bouncing from 75-95 constantly.
 
What does this mean for the WISP's like Amobia?

Are they going to upgrade their customers to base telkom speed or are they going to keep their customers at 384?

Anybody??
 
Bugger. I just called but the guys who upgrade the accounts apparently finish work at 6pm.

I would give it another go. Took me 4 tries (earlier I was getting a message saying I called outside of work hours so sorry for me) and finally got it done about 10 minutes ago. Didn't even have to reboot my modem, guy just told me to refresh and voila, sorted.

Will the ISP's be upgrading their accounts to match the minimum line speeds?

I'm on IS uncapped atm (don't ask me why, it's complicated) will they up my allowable bandwidth to 1Mbps? Or do I have to wait a month until everybody is on 1Mbps?
