wow, you know there is an edit button right?!?!?!

Anyways... only logical conclusion based on what you said is a phone problem.
If you tried it on two seperate desktop computers (its not a computer)
Works in wife's phone, (not network, or your simcard)
works on your phone (tells you that your phone has correct settings)
the issue is between the software contacting your phone.
Either its a mistake you making twice, or there has been a corruption on the protocol speaking to your phone. Can you copy music/data files to and from the phone? (using computer) that should prove the data cable is still working fine.
Otherwise take the phone to Customer Care and get them to make it work on one of their system...
Off Topic: Please dont blame Vodacom (i.e Vodaocom 3G) for being quite, it is extremely difficult for anyone to assist or give advice on technical issues if they are not physically sitting infront of the computer or using that phone. There are millions of different configurations of hardware and software, not to mention version numbers, and almost impossible to diagnose a problem.
We are all trying our best to help you, if you went to the MTN section you wont even find anyone TRYING to help you... so yeah, go get away from Vodacom, go to MTN and let them help you.
I really dont want to sound rude, but we are actually trying to help you.
