MrG, I assume you're quoting that from MSDN or somewhere? - anyways that "glitch on the ISP's end" probably assumes you're working off a fixed line connection - as opposed to a wireless connection with signal fluctuations, going back to:What that tells me [in this wireless context] is that signal quality is probably not all that good in johandutoit2000's conditions [causing packet loss] - maybe try moving the Samsung around to get a better quality signal...

Yeah, that is quoted from the above website, check my previous post...

OK. Figured the PPP log part out.

No idea, soz man... will need to search MSN some more again ^^

Tried connecting via bluetooth (error:619), infrared (error:718) & USB cable (error:718). Originally forced the phone to UMTS (3G) and it was working fine until Sunday evening late. Tried to set phone to automatic instead of UMTS, but no change.

Saturday evening I downloaded MSN and then yahoo messanger to my desktop and installed that. Have tried to uninstall yahoo messanger. No Luck.

During Sunday I also took some pictures and video with phone for the first time. Have tried since to free that memory up again. No Luck.

What must people do who actually have no idea what they are doing?

founnd on some website sites:

1)If error 619 occurs

Step 1: Restart your computer. If you still have the error, go onto step 2

Step 2: Delete your SMIG connection.
To delete your SMIG connection, right-click the mouse button, and left-click on Delete. Then reinstall SMIG according to the XP directions. If this does not correct the error, go onto step 3

Step 3: You now need to remove the modem.
Go to Control Panel, Phone and Modems, Modems tab. Highlight the modem, and click on Remove. After which, close everything, restart your computer and Windows will reinstall the modem for you.

This is a 'bug' in the Windows XP operating system. It may or may not occur.

Check your SMIG connection settings

2)
Error 619 - The port was disconnected

This can be resolved by following these steps:

Restart your computer and wait until all applications have completely loaded before trying to reconnect.
Check your modem and phone cables are connected securely.
If your problem has still not been resolved uninstall and reinstall your Broadband modem. For information on how to do this click on your modem

Error 619 The specified port is not connected.

This often happens when another program is using the modem. Disable all fax software.

If this does not work then shutdown and turn off the computer. This forces the port to close properly.

If it still gives this error try reinstalling the modem. (Be careful with WinModems as they have often a lot of extra disks)

If not, contact the manufacturer and get them to sort it out.

taken, from the first couple of site results on google

jeez, all this doesnt make sense if it doesnt work on TWO computers.

Moved to totally different desktop, but with WindowsXP installed. Same error exept that this one also gives 619 error, but says that the port was closed, because remote computer would not respond.

Now I really suspect the network. Going to ask them to reset my password.

...1) Can you connect to the network with the phone directly, i.e. not via the PC and can you then browse.

If so, the problem lies on the PC side of things. ....

I dont agree with this statement. I have definately had it before on the MTN network that I could connect via phone, but not through desktop. It also just started to fail and then worked again a few days later.

Vodacom3g,

Please help. What must I do. As you can see through this thread, I have tried every possible route. There must be a network problem. Maby it is spesific to my account. Is it possible to reset my password?

Then it's someting on the pc maybe try to create a new connection.

Grim,

Please read the rest of the thread before commenting.

Vodacom3g,

Moved the sim card to my wife's D600 last night. Everything worked first time. Then tested again with ZV10. No Luck. The only thing left is a firmware upgrade. If that does not work, I would have to return the phone. Would you agree?

Maybe some holy water?

I've asked one of the support guys to make contact with you over e-mail.

This problem has been thoroughly investigated by myself and various people from Vodacom and on this forum. I have come to the final conclusion. Dont you agree? I have covered all possible problem scenarious.

Plan of action:

Will take phone to Vodacare. They will have to prove that they can get it to act as modum. If they cant, then I have enough to cancel contract.

Special word of thanks to Vodacom3G for giving me a call and calming me down. Your support is greatly appreciated. Hope we can solve this one.
