3G on Virgin - SOON!!!

Haha maybe. Lets wait and see what will happen within the next few weeks. At least the data costs are held low with edge :-)

For the WC? Dude! The WC ended ages ago...

They just turned the 3g on for the worldcup...dnt get excited

Smartypants : They turned on some towers with 3G on for the world cup (As in they turned it on while the world cup was on for their roaming customers: to not seem as thou Cell C is that bad )... Understand? or should we open up the Cell C service books?

Wawawiwa, I just selected Vodacom under network search and boom I am running 3G!?!

Tried using Vodacom 3G with my prepaid Cell C sim and it didn't work. Can you confirm that you are still on Vodacom 3G with a Cell C sim?

I think you might be in the wrong forum... This is about Virgin 3G which can run off CellC and Vodacom (CellC main). But yes, I am on Vodacom network with my VIRGIN card and am using 3G. My provider is shown as "Vodacom SA | Virgin"

Unless Virgin SIMs act exactly like CellC ones which I am not sure of? Virgin SIMs generally seem to be able to go onto Vodacom and until recently 3G wasn't enabled there for Virgin people

mtn is still cheaper and not so much full of crap..

No its not. For someone like me who sends 500 sms+ a month, makes 60 mins of calls and uses only 100mb data Virgin is BY FAR the cheapest. I'd be paying R400+ on MTN while I pay R150 now. And I do want to move and hate Virgin but not at those price differences

I know. But there are some differences. I tested various places and I have 3g all over cape town. Maybe only some numbers have been upgraded. Or is only can town

I would say that Cell C would be favoured first if it came 3G connectivity. There is not much difference is what I can say.

Just checked my girlfriends phone and she's on 3g too. Virgin but on Vodacom network
