40% drop in ADSL prices?

do you know where the real rip off comes in

is actually charging ppl for 192 384 512 1024

i mean does it matter at the end of the day we still have a cap, so getting to that at 1024 or 192 is enevatable (spelling aint so good :)
 
i think my 384 line's price is not that bad

i think 500 for 10 gig of data is shocking

bring back the cheap 30 gig accounts and leave the line pricing alone

384 plus 30 gig for under 600 rand would really work well in this ripped off country

telkom has eyes everywhere when you bend over they just rape you over and over, its damn sad man

Killadoob, the point is simply that 1024 is a bit faster than 192kb for browsing and streaming, which makes it a bit more useful and it should cost a bit more. But im mostly not disagreeing with you, what is the point? The people who buy over 384 kb are wasting their money, or they have more than one PC connected, which is the other big reason for a faster speed.

Even when there is a cap you might still nee higher speed, lots of people just browse, and want faster speeds for that and maby have like 3-4 people connected to the internet in their house, but they couldnt care about the cap. They are called Telkoms target market.

Well not sure what's happening, but I normally get a stable 20KB/s on a 192k line. Lately it's stable at that speed for a few minutes, and then spikes to 50KB/s for about 20 seconds before returning back to 20KB/s and the process starts over. Not that I'm complaining :)
 
can anybody verify this or is it just hot air? reductions are long over due now. and telkom doesn't say anything.

does anybody have any solid facts?
 
Once upon a time, I also got information from an extremely "reliable source at Telkom" and also posted a price reduction and never materialized.

Is this the same "reliable source"?

I will believe it when I get my account that shows those 40% price drop.

STOP WHATEVER YOU TAKING, ITS NOT WORKING, R150 for 384 plus 30gigs is more like it.

Same thing happened in my area in the west rand all the old telkom green boxes were removed and they had independent contractors working on it.
 
Oh you mean I will be getting that 1Mb line after all ... sweet :D

I dont care about 10mb blah blah just hope this is true and we get atleast a 40% price reduction without price per gig going up to 200rand or something crazy like that
