42 Mbps HSPA+ here later this year

Great Stuff!
I am discussed in Telkom because wireless technologies is supreme in SA.
If you understand what I mean...

with that kind of speed, what are the costs going to be? You could flatten your 1G cap in an hour flat, costing hundreds of rands at todays rates. Are the rates going to compare with ADSL?

what kind of hardware would you need to run at this speed - would I be able to use my normal 3g modem ro would it be a firmware upgrade

What does 42mbps help if your k3715 only supports 7.2?

Well, I guess as the network capacity increases so you should see better performance by your K3715 modem. So instead of peaking @ 3mbps for example, it might start getting closer to its max speed of 7mbps???

Judging from the prices that Vodacom & MTN are charging for 1GB @ 7.2Mb/s
These speeds will simply = Higher prices for the consumer + More profit for the ISPs
All I am hoping is that with the introduction of HSPA+ ISPs such as Vodacom, etc. Will reduce prices per GB, else the speed improvements are useless to me :(

I reckon that the cellular operaters will be reducing the cost of their bandwidth, probably before June. So I guess we'll just have to wait and see

Awesome ! At that speed you'll be doing R8 per second !! Vodacom must be really eager to unleash this speed on us.

did this article state anywhere that south african networks would be rolling out these speeds in 2010?
