550 Unrouteable address - help

Just had a look on co.za and it looks like they still support an update form generator via email for legacy updates but the domain registrant's email is admin< at >ah-web.org which will make the update approvals difficult unless you still have contact with the owner of the email - they would have to accept the request. You'll need to contact [email protected] and explain the issue otherwise.

Uniforum SA will email a copy of the transfer / update to the registrant and Technical contact.
Does the the @tiscali.co.za email address still exist?

Hi Jade, yes the @tiscali.co.za does exist. ZACR tell me that they don't allow transfers of domains in the anniversary month so they keep rejecting the request,

That’s correct - they won’t allow the transfer but you can update the name servers in the mean time whilst you wait for the anniversary period to lapse.

Sadly I can't update the name servers and the guy who set up the domain for me says he has lost his access to do it.

If he doesn't have access to [email protected] anymore no other registrar will be able to take over the domain. Going from legacy to EPP still requires the registrant accepting the transfer.

You will have to fill in Form 2 which is manual update authorisation

I’m registered as the Registrant.
Doesn't matter what the registrant name is. It can be Brad Pitt. What counts is the registrant email

2l. Registrant e-mail : [email protected]

However, you can call yourself lucky registrant name is yours, as Form 2 will only work if you can prove you are who you are under the registrant name.

To provide some context. Your domain was registered and still is on the old ZACR legacy system which was email based for creation, updates and deletions. The email for the registrant for the domain is the admin< at >ah-web.org. To migrate the domain away or update the domain on the legacy system you have to email an update form to a processor email account which sends notifications to the registrant address and other addresses listed. If memory serves the registrant email at minimum has to approve the request in order to proceed. You have to contact [email protected] as you are listed as the registrant and they may have another manual process to modify the registrant email address and then submit the update request. You will most likely have to go through the same even in January.

Ok, fair enough. I did call and confirm that they had my email address as Registrant - not disagreeing with what you see.

You are not listed as the registrant email - your email is listed for technical and billing contacts. 2L is what counts for the electronic process.

Thank you, I was misinformed - appreciate your patience with me.

He won't be able to. Registrant gets the mail to approve.
Been a while since I worked with legacy system

He should be able to update name servers in the mean time if he has access to tech / registrant email - as this change is not rejected by the renewal policy.
