8800GT pricing...

Where can I get it for R2350???
(Preferably a store with which I can order a 8800gt aswell..)
Where'd Supersunbird go to?
He still around???

PC International sells the Q6600 for R2,049 excluding VAT. Rectron also did a while back but I think they increased it's price... Ask around, there ought to be tons of places selling them at bargain prices :)

That's why I'm asking.. So???? Any other ideas?
I phoned PC International about it but they told me that they'll only receive stock of the 8800gt in Jan'08.... :(

All right, Rectron also sells them but for R2,099 excluding VAT as far as I recall...

@Gothan - they have stock? When you expecting delivery?

I know it is not directed at me but i have the answer...

The first round they took nearly 40 orders and now only got something like 15 cards, therefor if you weren't in the first 15 you are out of luck for that card, but they do offer Chaintech and XFX replacements if you don't want to wait for the next batch. Or you can cancel the order and get your money back.

But they still don't have the first batch in any case

Well, I phoned Rectron yesterday...

Their price on the Gigabyte 8800gt will be just more than R2900
Geez, where can we get one for cheaper than that? That will be in SA BEFORE Jan'08 :(

You really have to wonder whats wong with people: They are selling/buying these cards on ebay for almost $400 and the new GTS will obviously be out soon and cost way less then that so whats the point?

Hi

sorry for only getting back now, but after posting on friday, I rushed off to get me one.

And let me tell you, it freakin looks amazing, I even played crysis, on my single core amd 3200 cpu, and played all settings on high, with no problem what so ever, unfortunately did not get the framerate (the last time I had an nvidia was in 2004, so I am still playing around a bit)

I bought one of those bundles from computersonly, took the R3199 one, its a bit faster than the inno 3d card, and comes with crysis as well as company of heroes.

On friday when I was there, they seemed to have a bit of stock, dont know if they still do, but its worth a try.

EDIT : a quick add, I see they still have in stock, but thats for the xfx 8800gt, with the same clock speed as the inno 3d, its R2999

I understand what you are saying..but because there is such a short supply of them people can ask whatever they want pretty much. Lets just hope that this doesn't happen with the new GTS's as im not keen on paying 500$ for something that should cost around 300-350$(and i won't either).
