8800GT pricing...

All I can say after a weekend of gaming (hellgate, jericho, bioshock and crysis) is GET IT!!!!!!!

I have been a huge fan of ATI (after the whole mx 440, did not want to have a single thing to do with nvidia), but this card just rocks!!

Even on my old machine (still using amd x2 939 cpu's, and ddr 400's), I have not encountered a single problem, and crysis runs like a dream. In bioshock when you land in the water in the beginning, the surface of the water looks just amazing, even my wife (and she hates computers and gaming) loved the stunning visuals that you get with this card, but here is where I defintely would recommend DX10 (*kicks my own @aa*) you can really tell the difference

hmmm, any ideas as to when the 256mb version of the 8800GT will be released? I saw a benchmark where the 8800gt 256mb version only loses to its 512mb counterpart by 3.10% at 1280 x 1024. Its also supposedly $50 cheaper! So imagine if you can pick it up for R1999.00. That would be awesome

ok, cancelled with Prophecy and got my card now with Computersonly.... now i have another retail version of Crysis (will put it in the classifieds)

Hmm, slick from PCB had Inno3D 8800GT cards for R2300, but I can't seem to find the thread anymore. :(

EDIT: lol, that's because I was looking for it on systemshock xDD The deal is still there for R2300 :D

The 8800GT 256MB looks great if you're just running 1024 - 1280, which is fine by me for a few hundred less. :D

I'll have to see if the GTS becomes affordable enough for me :D

Yeah i agree. But have decided that the GT will have to do for now :D and then when prices stabilize and if it's worth it then the GTS will be mine....i hope:rolleyes:

Honestly, the 8800GT are an extinct card......until 2008

i was lucky to order one, was sold out 2 days later :)

Thanks for the link but, like MrE said, there is nothing wrong with Inno3D, I'm still getting the OC'ed card from prophecy.

btw, do zones actually ship? They have a beyond useless site, so I'm assuming it's just a shop?

Agreed, the Inno card is good value.
I dont think PC zone ship, never heard of them doing that before, its mostly a walk in trade situation.

Then a link for buying online isn't very useful.. yet he spams it in another thread. They're only in Durban. :(

PC zone have good pricing but seriously lack on service, when I lived in durban I had so many hassles with them that I just stopped buying there...
