8ta coverage in Nelsruit

Hi,
I will be going to Nelspruit next weekend for 4 days.
I currently have 8ta 10 Gig bundle and 60+60 Gb prepaid bundle.

Will any of these bundle's work in Nelspruit?
I have checked the coverage on 8ta website and it does not look like 8ta has 3G coverage in Nelspruit.
Will these bundle's work on atleast GPRS/EDGE when i am there?
 
No it won't work bro. I lived in Nelspruit a few years. The CellC reception is HSPA+ and blazing fast though, so just get yourself a CellC sim card.
 
Will vodacom 3G work? I have a small bundle loaded on my voice sim.

Yes, Vodacom, MTN and 8ta Roaming on MTN will work. I still stand by my CellC advice though. R45 for 300Mb data is bloody cheap.

Edit: For clarification, you can't roam your 8ta connection on MTN as your packages are for 8ta towers only.
 
Is it that cheap? I have just loaded vodacom 250 Mb for R99.
Double price for 50MB less data.

Hi,
It looks like it does not matter how big data bundle you buy it costs the same price per MB. That means i can buy 100Mb for R15 and use 500 MB and pay extra R60. So there is no use of buying bigger bundle and loose data if incase we dont use it. Am i correct?
And what happens if I dont buy bundle at all and use normally?

Correct. Buy 50MB R7.50 and enjoy 15c/MB OOB for the next 30 days. But it is 8ta thread, post your questions in relevant section. There is more you can learn from, due to the weekend special.
 
Thanks. Will check the weekend special. I only need the cell c for next weekend.

Hi Guys,
This is to confirm that the 8ta 60+60 gig special worked fine in Nelspruit.
And the speed of the connection is as good as it is in Joburg even though the signal is weak.

I took cell c with a data bundle loaded. But i never needed it.

That's news to me. It's not even on 8ta's coverage map :) Glad you were sorted.
