At about 12:45 14 Oct, my 8ta disconected... and doesn't want to reconnect. It connects and then just jump off.
Didn't change a thing (was in the middle of a game when it went down)
Using E1820 modem.
Have been connected to 8ta for just over 2 months now 10gig + midnight.

Is anyone experiencing the same thing.

Restarted my PC, reinstalled 8ta connect - still nothing
Signal Strength good
UMTS

The seconed that it connects, I get HSPA+, but then i lose it again...

Please help.

Update...

Funny enough.
I did a system restore. I'm im connected again.
I have to reinstall half my ****, but I'm connected.

I seem to have hassles with connecting if i have antivirus software installed.
I tried MS essentials and AVG with no luck.
What package works for you, on the dongle. Hopefully I'll get a 3G router by the end of the month, then I shouldn't have these problems.

Im nto certain but i think 8ta might have just dropped in general as i had my downloads on last night woke up this morning and it ahd only got through like 1 3rd of the stuff and i was disconnected

Had massive disconnect issues last night, but has been fine for the entire day.

Currently been connected for 7 hours, 20 minutes (Stupid Windows updates forcing reboots...)
 
@Tacet, Im on the East Rand, Benoni. And yes, its been working fine from 1:30am.

@8ta Representative, I think it might have been an update of something that sneaked in and played with my settings. I'll mail through the query should it happen again.

Still. Any recommended anti-virus software?

It happends sometimes after 12am. I think it's something to do with maintenance.
 
Got my 10gig pm today and all signal I get is EDGE

I just activated my 8ta sim but have been crawling EDGE speeds the whole day. I am in Sunninghill, Rivonia Road and deep within the coverage area. Not such a great start!

Hello.

I have the prepaid 8ta bundle which works great, but between about 11:30 - 1am at night it seems to disconnect and not want to connect for about another 15 mins or so. Not sure if it's maybe because it is switching to the 'midnight' mode or what?

Or maybe it could actually be my modem (as it is a cell c one - but i doubt it is this) but still its weird that it works 100% everyday until that specific time of night where it disconnects for about 15 mins.

Yeah sometimes the 8ta DNS server goes down for some reason and internet connectivity gets lost.
When this happens you can try using the google DNS settings for your connection. I find this helped alot.
