8ta network disconnects

Having the same problem here in Bellville, also using an E367 modem. It kept dropping the connection over the weekend and my router (a Tenda 3G622R+ - which has been working perfectly in the past) isn't reconnecting correctly after the dropped connection (which is weird, as it usually does).

I will say, that whatever was happening here, was a bit strange, as my MikroTik router with E367 was unable to always recover the connection, even with all the recovery scripts I wrote a while back.

During checking on this problem, several times I found the modem in a totally unresponsive state, with indicator showing RF circuits off and no usb serial communications via either the data or info channels. The only recovery was a power reset of the router.

No idea what the 8ta network side could have done to leave the modem in this state.

I agree, nothing can be done by network in this state.
Remember power problems? Filter/In-cable filter is a solution.

Glad to stumble upon this thread. My e367/billion 7402nx setup fell over on Friday. (I'm in Kenilworth). I swapped in an e172 (7.2Mbps) and everything was fine.

I though that the e367 had popped its clogs. When connected to my laptop it would start up, connect at hspa+ speeds, and then after a while reboot - the laptop would lose it then redetect. I tested it last night with an Cell C sim and it appeared to be stable, leaving me a bit puzzled. The signal strength for 8ta and Cell C are comparable.

Anyway, given that some folks have had positive results, I'll plug it back in and see what happens.

Interesting, e367 plugged back into the router. Solid connection for 30 minutes and counting. Seems fine.

Great news. Now I just don't want to get my hopes up and find out I have received no messages/emails because it disconnected some time during the night :o
