93 or 95 Unleaded?

Hi guys

last year i bought a Ford Fiesta 1.4 Ambient, got it for a good price 2011 model 40k's on the clock!
okay so i have a question should i use 93 or 95 unleaded, a guy who works with me also has the same car and he said the car will be light on fuel if i use 95 but my husband disagrees he says the booklet states 93, i noticed the car is heavy on fuel and we mostly drive Free way with it, also will be servicing it this month.

What should i do?

If the manual says 93 octane then use 93. Otherwise you're just throwing money down the fuel hatch.

I found it's just a waste of money using 95 on my 1.6 and 1.3 litre cars. Just use 93, your fuel usage will be pretty much the same.

My friend's 1.6 cries when he fills up with 93, can't get the same power and it usually eats through 93 octane like pacman, different story with 95 octane.

Manuals don't generally take our altitude into account.

Yup it's rare to see 93 at the coast unless you go to the small dodgy garages. I only ever saw 3 garages so far that have 93 in KZN.

Fill 'er up with 95 then. It will give you a bit more power and may even last longer.
