A box to keep hub in

um....peder....i have a 128k line, and he plays WoW, and if you read above i stated my isp let me be a beta tester with a 2MB line, and he still pulled it out, and WoW doesnt require more than 512k bandwidth at the most, so yeah.....hope that explains it;)
 
i think he is just playing on your nerves... its what my brother does...

But make a box thats all i can think...

Maybe he was doing some downloads and saw its getting slow or doing something else...

Can't you resolve it peacefully thats why i ask his age because he sounds like 12. maybe you should let him read this thread... and realise that he is acting like a little boy.
 
lol, he is 17, and he has been doing this for over a year now and i am sick and tired of it
 
oh it's worse than i though. . . he is a WoW player, u may friend, have a problem, get that boy to rehab asap

um.....me and my brother dont speak....AT ALL......we dont get along, we never have, and never will, thats the long and short of it all!!!!!
 
what about you pull out his cable while he is playing games?

I wish i knew of another way to help. all i worry about when it comes to that box is he takes a scissor to your lan cable which sounds quite likely.
 
lol, he knows that the same will happen to him if he does, and none of us feel like running cable through the roof lol, so i know he wont do that

Except I crept into her room, found the port she was using, and blocked it on the router... :D
She saw the grin on my face and cut my vga cable in half! We still don't get along either but yes, the box should solve this. I'd actually like to see what you can come up with as I might need such a device for lans in future (Last time I had to use masking tape to hold the lan cables in place as people kept tripping over the wires)
 
You put the hub ina box and he'll cut your cable.... That much I can guarantee...

Get a wireless hub and a wireless card for your pc.. then he can't fsck with it.
 
He could unplug the aerial... Trust me, I've seen it done (By my sister of course)
 
well i have a 27m cable running to it, so yeah......as for the cutting...he wont do it cuz he knows i will cut his and his is shorter, therefore he will have to cough up more to replace mine, so he wont do that.
 
wireless or QOS on the router sounds like a good idea... he is not a kid a 17.. wooden box wouldn't stop me.. just need one time hammer...

at the end of the day you both don't seem to want to address the issue...

Do what I did. I wrote a small windows service that monitored my pc and if it was reachable. The moment it lost connection to my pc it started flooding the network and made the internet unusable. Haha my bro plugged out the cable only once or twice after that. And it also served as a good alibi because the lag still continues after "the downloader" has been unplugged. :D
